The West Side Theatre Guild

My first visit and let me just say Wow!!! This venue was recently updated and it was beautiful. First, the performances from the talented kids was incredible. From the band team, the choir, dance team, and the ROTC represented. And the phenomenal Clark Sisters "They Made My Day" I'll be returning soon.

The production of "Fences" was phenomenal, from beginning to end. All of the actors played their roles well. The pacing was perfect, and there was never a lag. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

It's the only venue in Gary Indiana Rumor has it that they spent $600 on each recliner in the theater so you would have Is the best experience ever.. Was here for halftime performance during a basketball tournament in November. The Elite Dolls of Destruction, Northwest Indiana's majorette dance team performed, it was a great show, they did excellent!

It was a beautiful thing to watch the young children and young adults doing something positive in our City! This small thing/play is one of many that keeps me hopeful for our city. Our City of Gary may be going through a dry season, but I pray you all remember how green newly grown grass is. That's how I see my City. It's coming! Don't run, stay prayed up and positive especially for our young people!

“Fences” by August Wilson was outstanding! Are the actors equity actors? They were tremendous, not to mention the incredible theater and light & sound equipment making a wonderful production. We recently saw gem of the ocean by August Wilson at the Goodman in Chicago and you would be hard-pressed to tell a difference in the acting and production quality. Kudos West Side Theater Guild!

Excellent venue! Mark Spencer has done a superb job of developing this theater in the heart of an urban setting. Bringing 1st class acts, teaching the kids the ins and outs of performing, but also exposing them to the arts at this level is priceless.

Watched a wonderful performance of Fences. Actors and Actresses did an excellent job. I highly recommend that given an opportunity you take in a viewing and the SHOW WAS FREE!!!

I always enjoy watching the students perform in any type of play. They are so talented thanks to their teachings and directorship of the Drama Class Instructor, Mark Spencer. He's doing such a fantastic job.
