Make sure to use HoteIDully.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This website will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you won't regret it. I stayed there for five days with my wife and seven year old son. The hotel staff were supremely welcoming and helpful with us. Our room was so much better than expected with a second TV, partition wall and wonderful view of the Empire State building.
PROS: The room was clean and served it’s purpose. Larger than expected sized room for a NYC hotel. Convenient Times Square proximity. Shower felt great and toiletries smelled amazing. CONS: Check-in staff could’ve been more welcoming. The mattress was a bit firm for my liking. There’s no fridge or microwave which is really inconvenient. There was only one complimentary bottle of water in a king room with 2-guests. We chose this hotel because the website states they have room service. They don’t. That was really disappointing. Checkout was at noon but we left at 9:30am. No desire to hang around and relax.
This hotel has all kinds of service issues that I have never seen. Room: The first two nights after the housekeeping the bed sheets only cover 2/3 the mattress. One day I requested housekeeping, the management told me that “you need to be outside of the room” for the housekeeping... Foundry Bar: I ordered takeout one day. They automatically charged me 18% service fee for the takeout. I’m not sure what the service includes…but they didn’t even allow me to sit and requested me to wait outside of the bar for my food for 15 minutes. The staff working here are not in the happy state. They look stressed and they only do their very minimum. Most staff I have met are not friendly, except the doormen on the first floor the the Foundry kitchen breakfast staff crew. Unfortunately I still have a few nights left to stay and I will keep updating.
I stayed there for five days with my wife and seven year old son. The hotel staff were supremely welcoming and helpful with us. Our room was so much better than expected with a second TV, partition wall and wonderful view of the Empire State building. The housekeeping service was very good and the bedding was very nice. The hotel location was very convenient - close to many theatres, restaurants and other attractions with a subway station right across the street. The hotel breakfast provided a good variety of options and the servers there were very nice as well. Based on our experience, would highly recommend the Westin Times Square for anyone wishing to stay in mid town. Rooms: The room we stayed in was very spacious, updated with comfortable bedding and a well appointed washroom. Everything worked as expected. Walkability: As good as it gets for walkability. Close to many restaurants, Broadway shows and Times Square. One mile walk to Central Park.
Great location, east to get around from the hotel, loved the lobby and amenities. So, we arrived and checked in with no problems. The associate at the desk asked if we wanted an upgraded, newly renovated room on the top floor for $45 more a night. We accepted and proceeded to our room. Red flag #1... there were discarded drinking glasses left outside our door that sat there for almost 24 hours. #2... After the first day, we noticed that the lights around the mirror in the bathroom did not completely work so the lighting was very dim and the bath tub drain was extremely slow to drain Liquid Plumber could fix that. #3... On our 3rd day, we took the 'do not disturb' sign off the door to get the room serviced as we left out for the day. Came back that evening to a still dirty room. We called to ask for a cleaning as we left back out for dinner. Came back again and no one had been there. We called a second time to ask for fresh towels and this is when housekeeping comes in with cleaning cart to clean the bathroom and give new towels it's almost 11pm. #4... the TV connection kept going out. First time a tech was sent and the 2nd/3rd time, I reset it myself. Thankfully the bartenders at the Foundry restaurant near the lobby can make a mean Raspberry margarita! All in all it's a nice hotel. Nearby activities: Movies, shopping, and tons of dining options. Walkability: Subway, shops and food are all right there! Food & drinks: The Foundry bar was great! Nice staff and great drinks.
We have been to NYC a handful of times and The Westin was a decent stay with spacious rooms. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. We did only stay one night but enjoyed the time we had there. We were able to check in early 1 PM with no issue All other hotels made us wait until 4 PM, we had drinks and light fare at The Foundry great drinks and food for a hotel bar and relaxing environment. Our room was spacious compared to other rooms we have stayed in, beds comfy and showers clean. Both check-in and check-out were super easy and there was a doorman there to call us a cab as early as 5:45 AM to get to the airport. The hotel is in walking distance to the Theater District and a slight walk to Times Square. It is definitely a good location if you want to enjoy both. Harry Potter is the closest show if you are looking to see that with your family. Overall we had a great stay and if we were to come back to NYC we would consider staying here again. *there is a $30 a day resort/destination fee, not sure what it is but they give you a credit that can be used multiple places for it. Rooms: Spacious and clean for a hotel in NYC. Also have complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash large bottles that cannot be tampered with by guests. Walkability: Close to Times Square and the Theater District. Harry Potter is right next door. Food & drinks: Great drinks at the bar, well balanced! Good food options and you can use the $30 credit.
Location is great Staff is friendly But ... if you come from Europe, you will be shocked about the stone age design and interior of the room and the technical condition and infrastructure. Welcome to the 70s. I would have been smart to renovate the hotel during Covid.
I really regret booking this hotel and will never stay here again. This hotel is in the middle of time square hell. Not only was the room incredibly loud but there was a lighted sign outside my window that even the blackout shade could not handle. I’ve never had worse sleep at a hotel. On top of that they have a destination fee of $30 a day, which is like a resort fee with no actual amenities. Instead they pre charge you $30 a day at their very poor quality restaurant. Honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
Location is absolutely amazing! Nice big upscale hotel.. Upon arrival checking in at first desk the man was very rudeeee . Waited 2 hours for room to be ready , for the price of the hotel you would think you would at least get a microwave & refrigerator well there is a refrigerator that was “ out of order “.. and it’s an additional $20 to get a microwave in your room and nowhere in the facility where you can just go warm it up , ridiculous for the money I have paid . I guess I’m just not used to this type of service coming from the south but I have visited the north many of times and had a lot better experience soo l probably Definitely wouldn’t stay here again Rooms: Terrible ! Need to have microwave and refrigerator
I stayed in a king corner room with skyline view. I was told it was one of the recently remodeled rooms. It was very nice, but not large. 1 chair, 1 desk chair, nice desk, safe, many plugs and a nice closet and bath were all great. Towels are super soft, perhaps the softest hotel towels I ever encountered. Views were excellent and the windows opened slightly if you wanted to hear the NYC noises sirens, horns, you know the sounds Elevator service up and down was surprisingly fast. Check in was fast and easy. Staff were super friendly including cleaning folks. Room had everything I require EXCEPT a refrigerator. The minibar fridge which won't let you even cool a single water bottle of your own was NOT working. I resent having a pay fridge that I can't even cool my water in or stick a small leftover in for later. That was the only major strike for this hotel. A second smaller strike was having room service "temporarily suspended". It would have been nice if this had been mentioned at checkin. At 10 pm, having settled in and looking forward to some calorie rich room service food, I found out there was none. I had to get dressed again to go to Times Square to look for food. That brings me to location. This is a great location. A block off Times Square and restaurants of every description were everywhere. Also, due to the proximity to the tourist site, the area was very busy until very late, which made me, as a single female traveler, feel more secure as there were always people around and police were visible every block or two. I can't comment on parking but cab was easy to call using the Curb app. Price wasn't too bad for the room and it is a Marriott property so I got my Bonvoy perks. . A good value and very nice- just wish I could have a fridge.
