I purchased a Theracycle soon after being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in early February of 2017. I had researched the Theracycle as a possible way to deal with the symptoms of PD, mostly loss of arm swing, poor posture and a shorter than normal stride. We decided to buy one even though we thought it was expensive because they offered a 30-day free trial. It was a good decision. The Theracycle is an exercise cycle that was designed based on the research of Dr. Jay Alberts and the premise that "forced exercise" could help restore neural pathways in the brain that would help people with PD improve the things that I was losing. Within the first month of using the Theracycle every day, I noticed that I had my normal stride back, my posture had greatly improved, and I was getting my arm swing back. I quickly found that I could ride it at 15 mph for an hour, just letting the bike do the work for me the whole idea behind "forced exercise." Four years later, I still use the Theracycle 4-5 times a week. This week I began page 101 of a two week User's Log that came with the Theracycle. I find the Theracycle relaxing and also energizing - much better than a nap! As a result of "finding" the Theracycle, I can pursue other activities I had thought were gone forever: biking on my 21 speed on Rail Trails, water skiing, Rock Steady Boxing, hiking, and basically living a normal life. The Theracycle is the best financial investment in my health and well-being that we ever made!
Theracycle is wonderful. My mom has Parkinson's and is unsteady on her feet so this bike is perfect for her to workout safely. She loves using it. Additionally the entire Theracycle team is great and has been really helpful when we needed advice or replacement parts seatbelt for example. Highly recommend.
I have multiple sclerosis and it's difficult for me to move my legs. But theresycle has it been a game changer for my exercise regime. My one big criticism is the metal on the pedals. For the price of the bike, it should have some cushioning On the boots And pedals. I do wear pants and shoes when I bicycle but it still hurts when Your ankles or feet scrape up against the metal. I also wish it had some way to increase the resistance. It is great that you can alter the speed but there is no way to change the resistance.
After researching several companies, we discovered Theracycle for our son. He is not able to walk independently and has low muscle tone. His Theracycle bike allows him to exercise his legs and stimulate his cardiovascular and digestive systems. He is now up to riding 5-6 miles a day. Theracycle has changed his life.
I have found the theracycle to be an enjoyable addition to my daily exercise routine. Who would of thought a 78 year old diagnosed with Parkinson’s would return to riding a cycle for both physical and mental stimulation. Oh yes, my wife also enjoys a daily ride on MY theracyle.
From the beginning of my experience with the initial sales call all the way to the delivery of the product I was impressed and extremely satisfied with the whole process. The customer service was phenomenal! The machine is amazing. Does exactly what it says and it already has begun to make a difference in my daily life. Huge appreciation to Peter and Rich who went above and beyond.
Excellent machine, I use it most days, especially on days when I’m really stiff and in pain. I highly recommend Theracycle.
