_Lymphatic Drainage Massage_
Regarding Cosmetic Procedures, Lymphatic Drainage Massages are extremely beneficial in accelerating the healing process and in improving the overall physical results of your procedure.
I personally combine a few distinct massage techniques to obtain unparalleled results.
The first technique (a combination of Structural Integration and Myofascial Release) encourages the movement of stored fluids in the liposuction areas to the lymphatic drainage system. Removing the excess fluids closes the gap between the removed tissues and allows the area to heal much faster.
My second technique (Trigger Point Therapy), releases any spasms in the muscles surrounding the injection site. If an area has undergone trauma, stress, overuse, or injury specific trigger points are activated thereby increasing widespread pain, tension, decreasing range of motion and more importantly the flow of lymph. Eliminating trigger points above and below your injection sites will encourage a more rapid excess of fluid. This technique is extremely important for sustaining optimal esthetic results. Simply one muscle in spasm could pull your body out of alignment, thereby creating the illusion of an imbalance at the injection sites.
NOTE: I do not directly or vigorously massage over the areas of injection. Your doctor has skillfully and intentionally sculpted your body to be esthetically pleasing.
Finally, I employ the use of a 1MHz Ultrasound over the liposuction areas. Ultrasound can be highly effective in treating the connecting tissue by breaking up scar tissue adhesion. Additionally, the ultrasound will aid in the removal of fluid.
Directly after surgery, your massages may be uncomfortable feeling, but you will feel the benefit of faster healing.
For optimal results, post liposuction patients should receive Lymphatic Drainage Massage once or twice a week for the first six to twelve weeks following surgery.
