Therapywerks Treatment Approach:
#1. Muscle-Based Treatment is Unique.
Our treatment focus is on the "muscle component" of your pain. Tight, “locked-up”, dysfunctional muscle fibers produce the “grinding”, irritating movement that produces the inflammation and the pain. Once muscle gets “patterned” like this, exercise is ineffective or worse; irritating. You simply cannot exercise muscle that doesn't work. Therapywerks muscle-based treatment breaks these patterns and can get you back to successful, productive, exercise.
#2. Treat the Core.
Muscle-based treatment on the spinal core muscles is proving very effective in controlling pain all over. Movement in the core allows more normal movement in the extremities, decreased strain and some of the peripheral, recurrent problems (tendonitis, faciitis, bursitis) resolve completely. In other words when your core gets tight you use your arms and legs differently making them more susceptible to mechanical pains.
The spinal core muscles are very difficult, if not impossible for you to self-treat, release and normalize once they become dysfunctional. I’m starting to think your core can be “locked up” for years before mechanical problems surface. We have been very successful with muscle-based release of the spinal core in relatively few treatments.
#3. Warm Water Pool Treatment.
We maintain and utilize a warm water therapy pool. We utilize the warm water pool regularly to release and stretch musculature in a way that cannot be accomplished on a treatment table. This is a treatment that cannot be duplicated anywhere else. Using the warm, buoyant water allows us a comfortable, effective means to provide our muscle-based treatment.
