Well I hardly know where to begin. I was referred to Eye Associates by my routine optometrist at my yearly exam for cataract surgery. I was first seen by Dr. Christina Bui. She was amazing! I have had dry eyes all of my life and nobody has ever recommended punctal plugs for dry eyes. She popped in a trial pair in about one second flat and it totally painless! No more dry eyes!!! For decades I have suffered with dry eyes and no doctor has ever mentioned this option to me! She told me if I liked the temporary plugs we could place permanent plugs and needless to say I went for that option! They are actually changed out every six months or so. Medicare paid for them:- Next I had two encounters with Michelle and Patricia, surgical coordinators, who explained all my options and procedures. They are both an asset to eye Associates. Cataract surgery was scheduled for each eye two weeks apart. Guadalupe Regional Medical Center is where the surgery was performed by a team of expert nurses assisting Dr. Kavanaugh. They worked together like a fine-tuned machine and poetry in motion! From The Amazing staff of nurses to the anesthesiologist it was such a positive experience! The entire staff had such an amazing attitude and made me feel so comfortable . It was a totally painless procedure! I left GRMC seeing and reading fine print! Unbelievable! Medicare paid for all of it! Two weeks later my left eye was scheduled and Medicare once again paid for the cataract surgery. However, I spent the $3,000 to have a toric lens placed which was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life! I needed that for distance which gave me perfect monovision . It also enabled me to never deal with glasses or contacts again . I decided I'm worth it! Care Credit offers zero interest if paid in full within a year and that's the plan :- I see 20/20 now! I will never need to spend a fortune on glasses and contacts again or mess with the hassle of them both. I can hardly believe it when I wake up at night and I can see the alarm clock! Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I have thanked Him repeatedly for the surgical skill of Dr. Joseph Kavanagh! Google him! This guy is not only a skilled surgeon but a master engineer of surgical tools as well! I Left Eye Associates this afternoon with a final check-up on my left eye and was pronounced with 20/20 vision which I've had for some time now since the procedures were completed. There are absolutely no words that can convey my gratitude and amazement at what Dr. Kavanagh and his off the charts team of GRMC nurses and anesthesiologist accomplished with my procedures! I am an actively working charge nurse and I am not easily impressed. Everything about Eye Associates impressed me! Dr. Bui has such a beautiful spirit and explained everything to me so well. I have never been more comfortable in the chair of an opthamologist in my life! From the front desk until you go out the front door you will be impressed! All the girls at the front office are pleasant, kind, and efficient! I was so impressed I called the CEO of the hospital to complement Dr. Kavanagh and the GRMC team of amazing nurses. Much to my surprise I received a thank-you letter in the mail from Mr. Robert G. Haynes, chief executive officer of GRMC. In closing, if you're asking for my opinion go to Eye Associates! If you've been putting off cataract surgery or an eye exam call now and make an appointment! I bought Dr. Kavanagh a thank you T-shirt that said; I CAN CHANGE YOUR VISION. WHAT'S YOUR SUPER POWER? He Is My Superhero! I'm the happiest girl in the whole world. Vision is an amazing thing! I told him Jesus used mud and restored vision to the blind man. Dr. Kavanagh uses his incredible surgical skills which are also from Above. Thank you Dr. Kavanagh, Dr.Bui, and Eye Associates! Every good and perfect gift is from Above James 1:17
