Thornton Park

Every time I go have been going for years the lifeguards and office staff are on a power trip over ridiculous minuscule rules. Rules apply to some but not others. Stopped going years ago went for the first time yesterday for a party and nothing changed. Do not recommend if you want an enjoyable experience at a community center.

There is an aquatic center on site with a splash pad and kiddie pool. The bigger pool has a mini slide and bigger slide as well as a 12ft deep diving section Playground: Small playground with Mulch surface, slides, monkey bars and a climbing wall

This is the best area for family. I am so pleased in me and my family had an amazing time with the beautiful sunset.

Typically I don’t make posts like this, but I feel the need. The life guards are incredibly intense. These kids have a little bit of authority and take it drastically too far. The rules are inconsistent between them all. Not to mention some of the life guards have it out for only one demographic of people. I am always with my child, I never leave his side, yet I was reprimanded today while other parents were doing the same exact thing. If rules are to be enforced they need to be enforced for everyone. I wouldn’t recommend coming here. It’s a huge pool that you barely can access. The lazy river is an access point and sweep small children in and they aren’t supervised.

I live in highland hills in a senior building we do not have a pool. I paid $8 to swim there it was a nice experience but the lady was very nasty and said you have to be a resident to swim here. I'll let you pay and swim this time, and one time only she was very rude, and very obnoxious. it was a horrible experience I'd be happy to pay for a membership I had a fusion on my right ankle from an accident many years ago. the lady who worked in the office was the nastiest rudest person I've ever met in my life. seeing that I owned a hair salon on chagrin with my family years ago this place knows nothing about customer service wrong kind of management for a family facility.. I mean I was one little five foot person willing to pay for a membership and use the pool I live exactly a half a mile away but her politics the lady in the office with the short hair she was an older woman very nasty she must have been having a very bad day.

Thornton is a wonderful four-season park. It features an Olympic-size pool. The water is always almost perfectly clear. When the pool is empty of people you can see the full 50 meters -- end to end. The pool accommodates athletes who want to swim laps. It has a diving well. For the kids there are two great water slides, a shallow end, and a lazy river. Thornton also features a year-round skating rink, a climbing wall, a playground, two fantastic sledding hills, and a sand volleyball court. Thornton park is a fun precious treasure.

This is a great recreational center for families. It's got a skate park, basketball hoops, an ice skating rink, and a pool. They kick off the start of the outdoor swimming season by being the final stop in the annual memorial day parade. It's a great place for locals because all Shaker residents get a discounted rate.

The park is very inconsiderate to the people skating here. The workers and skate patrols are extremely unkind and don't help people that get hurt when falling down. Also figure skaters are forced to skate in the middle even when there are barely any people out of it and many people in it. Posing as a safety concern. Skating at public sessions are very unpleasant. But classes and teachers were very nice. Also the ice cuts are very bad.
