I had a wonderful experience for summer camp. First the financial aid employees were awesome. I got approved for my three kids and then I ended up taking in my sisters four children. They approved them as well which was a blessing. We signed up for summer camp for 6 of the children. My youngest son is autistic and not very verbal he did once a week karate class with David and Frank who was wonderful and so kind to him.Two of my sisters kids have behavioral issues. I appreciate the staff treating them with respect even during the behavior's. Brian the director was so understanding and kind. The children have been through a lot of trauma and is now in foster care. Brian did his best to still work with the children to make sure they enjoyed the camp. The staff was friendly. The only thing was staff put sunscreen on my nephew when I checked online no sunscreen. Also the foam pit I don't think was a good idea. A few kids had an allergic reaction to the foam. Overall it was an amazing experience for everyone. I highly recommend this recreation center.
I'm not sure how a public buildings is allowed to be this inaccessible. There is no obvious signage showing where wheelchair accessible entrances are. The main floor has an entrance on one side of the building, but if you want to go to the lower level you have to exit the building and go around to the other side.
I have only been to the outdoor playground area with my kids not the indoor rec center so this review only reflects that experience. Excellent playground with 2 large structures, one for small kids and one for bigger kids. My kids always have a blast, especially my 5 year old son who usually tends to get bored easily if there isn't enough to climb.
I like the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District concept and all they have to offer. My specific reasonings for joining was for the indoor track at another location and the weights at this cedar hills location. At this specific location it is kind of a hit and miss as far as being busy, but for the weekends it is so busy with parking so be prepared for no parking on a Saturday and it being closed on Sundays. So be aware. As far as information regarding refunds if you pay a year in advance, there is really no information on the website nor paperwork to indicate so. If you want this information it is ONLY available on the sign in desk along with numerous other flyers. Not exactly as much of a problem as small print on a contract, but nevertheless still a bamboozling move on customers. So please beware and stay at that front desk and read the fine print in between all the other flyers.
It's not an organized facility. Every time we joined a class, it was just chaotic. Also, they won't refund you when you drop a class once you see it on the first day. It used to be after 1st week or so you could drop it. Class durations are very short now. You must drop a class more than five business days before when class starts to get refunded. Is this fair? A lot of times, your money is wasted since you see on the first day that the class is a waste of time, The teachers aren't paid well and class sizes are large, so they don't work with the kids well, so it's waste of time mostly.
Great place to use cardio machines or weight room that’s WAY less busy than your standard corporate gym. It’s rare you have to wait on someone else to use a particular machine or piece of gym equipment. Staff are real friendly, too.
I love the location and the immaculate condition of this facility. One downside is that they are closed on Sunday. While individual classes are offered, I just go there for the weight room and the cardio room.
Aerobic, Nautilus and weight rooms, dance and craft rooms, sport space, and a variety and plenitude of classes for adults and kids. It's affordable, if you live in the THPRD parks-tax district. No pool or woodsy park.
We’ve been using this facility for our young kids activities for the last year and a half and love it! I cannot speak to the adult class offerings, but as far as youth toddler age classes go - they’re great! Everything from 9 month preschool programs to drop in play gym, with friendly and caring staff.
I love the people and variety of classes offered here. I especially love being able to drop my kids off in capable hands while I exercise. The upgraded playground makes for a fun time with the kids, although could use more shade.
