I stopped by this brewery during the Ale Trail and fell in love! I've been to IX Park so many times but have yet to visit Three Notched! They were pretty busy as I would imagine a Saturday may typically be there. In addition to the "normal" crowd the Ale Trail added about 75 extra people to the mix. I believe that they were well prepared and staffed adequately enough to continue to serve everyone in a timely manner. Our server took care of us at a separate table as we had a somewhat large order of food compared to others who were snacking and drinking. Waters were immediately brought to the table, I ordered a virgin bloody Mary and my husband tried one of the IPAs. For starters, we ordered to onion dip which I have always personally loved so it was a hit for me. The chips that came with it tasted like they were made in house and were topped with green onions. I didn't mention we were here around brunch so we did order off the brunch menu. My friend chose the "Going Full Southern" platter which came with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits with gravy. His food was all really delicious but my favorite part was the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a cream gravy but browner than the typical white gravy. Really really good! I opted for the hot chicken sandwich which came with a choice of either fries, breakfast potatoes, or salad. I ordered fries and then was asked further if I wanted to upgrade them. She suggested garlic Parmesan so I went with that and they were delicious! I asked for a side of ranch like a do everywhere and if you're a ranch loved, you'll like theirs as well. The fries are great in it as well as the sandwich. I will say the sandwich is delicious and the chicken is super plump and juicy. If you don't like anything spicy stay away from this option. The dry rub of spices used is extremely spicy and almost if not as hot as eating a spicy Thai food. I really loved it so if you like spicy, order this! I HAD to have desert because I could smell chocolate coming from the kitchen. They have the most unique and delicious sounding desserts. We went with the chocolate bread pudding. It was served warm and with a side of chocolate ice cream drizzled with caramel and chocolate. It was heavenly. It literally tasted like pudding that was cooked a little longer with flour added to it. Perhaps that is what it is, AND IT'S DELICIOUS! I can't wait to return to try out dinner and lunch here! My friend loved the beers and the atmosphere was fantastic!
Delicious food! The Parmesan Garlic Fries so delicious, even the waitress said the cook hooked us up. We also split the Grilled Sausage Platter and it was just enough for us two. My husband really enjoyed their NA options as well. Wish there was more of a mountain side view, but there is a cool little art park on the walk up.Food: 5/5
I've had several of their beers from grocery stores and when my son suggested we visit the brewery I was all for it. 4 adults and 2 children. We ordered 4 flights of different beers and apple juice for the kids. We liked almost every beer except about 2 or 3. 13 of 16 is not bad. We also ordered several food items. Kids had Mac and cheese and chicken tenders with fries. I ordered the chicken tacos. One son ordered the C'ville hot chicken sandwich. The other 2 sons ordered the pretzel bites and vegetarian Philly egg rolls. At first glance I thought it was a bit pricey but when the food arrived I thought the portions were large enough to justify the prices. The sides are especially generous. Everyone enjoyed their selection. I loved the tacos. We will definitely visit again for the food and the beverages. We even bought a few beers to go. These were not available any place else. Well earned 5 stars.
Overall, it was not horrible but won’t be going back. The beer was pretty good. For food, we got the pretzel bites and nachos with pulled pork. We weren’t impressed. The pretzel bites should have been crispier and salty. They were a lot more like rolls than soft pretzels. The nachos weren’t bad but I wouldn’t order them again. I would definitely order the chips on the side because all chips were mushy before we could even eat half of it. Although there were only 3 other people at the the bar, the bartender seemed distracted by her phone and setting up the outside bar or something, so the service wasn’t very good.
Charlottesville's Three Notch'd Craft Kitchen & Brewery is set up like a beer garden. The place is huge. It doesn't offer the intamacy of a smaller brewery, BUT, both the beer and the food were excellent. Our server was both friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, I failed to get her name. I really wanted to try one of their burgers, which looked mouthwatering good online. But the brunch menu was shouting at me and I ordered the Cajun Eggs Benedict. They were delicious. My wife had the chicken and waffles which were out of this world. There was plenty to choose from on the beer menu and I went with the "Spring Fever Fruited Blonde". Though it is a limited edition, a collaboration with the Roanoke Brewery and might not be around for long, I highly recommend it while it lasts. Good beer, good food, good staff equals a nice day out in Charlottesville.
Love the sours here, food quality seems consistent, kinda $$ for brunch but that might just be Charlottesville for ya. Nice waitstaff, pretty spacious inside plus very good light with all the huge windows.Recommended dishesChicken & Waffles
Good pretzel appetizer a bit pricey$ but nice pretzel chew on the outside yet soft on the inside with cheese and a whole grain mustard dipping sauces was worth a try And i had to do a flight to sample the beers, and have to say 3 out of the 4 were right on the mark 4th was a little dark for me between the stouts ales and fruity beers all were dam good beers, they change the beers all the time so have to try more before it gets 5 stars but will definitely be back! Plenty of parking, atmosphere inside and out was just what you want for a brewery, lots of group tables, large bar, and plenty of helpful staff members can't wait to try more of the food and drinks.
“whoa; this place is big!” big draft list, nice menu, good service. i would gladly go back for the food alone, but i appreciate a good beer by itself too. the echo from the high ceiling makes it noisier than i would expect, but that’s the only drawback. looking forward to sitting outside when the weather is nice.
This place has a great assortment of beers and very good food. I had a flight of beers and found several I liked. I also had a Philly cheese steak sandwich with mac-n-cheese. Our server was top notch and very friendly.
These folks continue to produce fantastic beer, and the food coming out of the kitchen is quality! Above your normal “pub fare”. When I was there Tuesday I was only having a beer and picking up…. My fresh beer club order.! A great value and super program three notched he’d offers-if you like beer and like cool Places -and appreciate when friendly people bring scrumptious food to you-this is a must be spot in Cville.
