Adults......
Our adult class consists of those 15 years old and above. The adult classes are intense and require focus and commitment. This is not to say that our classes are not fun. We all have a great time in class! We all need to have a healthy self esteem and live by our 10 tenets (Honor, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Courage, Community, Strength, Humility, Knowledge) inside and outside of our classes. Those adults that begin their journey into the Martial Arts typically do so for the exercise and stress relieve. Many may start because they have children who study the art, and they have seen the positive affects it has had on their children. Although exercise may be the initial reason for becoming involved in Martial Arts, most adults soon find it a way of life, a discipline that goes far beyond getting the heart rate up. The courteousness, respect and self-control that we learn through Traditional TaeKwonDo help us in our personal lives and relationships, family issues, and in the work place.
Juniors.....
Our Junior program consists of those ages 6-9 years of age, and our Youth program is for ages 10-14. As with our Cubs program, our Junior program is not only designed to teach the art of TaeKwonDo, but also valuable lessons in life. We teach our students to punch, kick, block, and to have proper stances. We teach them forms and combinations. We also teach them how to live by our Tenets. There may be only 7 tenets, but our studies go even further. We teach our children to respect themselves and others and to believe in themselves and have a high self esteem.
TaeKwonDo teaches focus and concentration, two concepts that many younger kids and teens find hard to do. The focus and concentration that they learn during martial arts classes will extend into their school work and with relationships with parents, teachers and friends. It is our goal not only to motivate a child to excel in TaeKwonDo, but also to excel throughout school and any other aspect of their lives.
Children also seem to have a never ending source of energy. TaeKwonDo is an excellent way to put that energy to use and maintain good health.
Tiger Cubs (the cutest kids ever!)
TeaKwonDo is an excellent way for children to have fun, work off energy, get great exercise, become more coordinated, and learn to work well with others. Cubs are taught punches, kicks, blocks, and proper stances. They often have very fun obstacle courses that require thought, concentration, and balance.
Classes are not only designed to teach children Martial Arts, but also to help increase their attention spans and how well they follow instructions. These teachings will benefit the cub not only in class but outside of class in their school, school work, and relationships with their family and friends.
Most importantly, it teaches confidence and high self esteem. Each class helps every child to feel good about him or herself and provides confidence that will follow them into their teenage years and adulthood.
Every person must sign a consent form prior to taking class. Those under 18 years of age must have a parent sign a consent form and must be present during the class.
