We got a great taste of the angling opportunities for smalljaws on Upper Peninsula thanks to Tight Lines Fly Fishing Company. It was 2 anglers and one guide per drift boat. We fished for 4 days - all day - on a different stretch of river every day. I had the pleasure of being guided by Gavin Marquart and Charlie Pettite. These guys were incredibly knowledgeable about the fishery, offered excellent instruction, and were genuinely great dudes to spend time with on the water. They were well equipped and always had the right fly for the right occasion. Shore lunches were excellent as well - a nice bonus. If you want to catch beast smalljaws on dries facilitated by excellent guides - look no further.
Honestly, Its Just the best service out there. they did everything possible to help my friend and I get into fly tying, the best/cheapest way possible with quality products. I have been back multiple times since and EVERY person there has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I cant recommend this place enough.
Top shelf shop! Fantastic selection, excellent service, and awesome staff. I no longer live nearby but still make a point to stop by any time I'm in the area, and place orders through their online store. This place and its people got me hooked on fly fishing. I'll be a loyal customer until I can't hold a rod--and even then I'd still find a reason to swing in. -"the small mouth kid" one of the old shop keeps used to call me this way back when I could hardly afford tippet. His welcoming kindness and the knowledge he shared will never be forgotten.
Great shop! Staff is awesome and extremely knowledgeable. Well stocked for all your fly fishing needs! I have bought rods,reels, waders etc. they have competitive prices on top quality products. They are always willing to share their vast knowledge.
Tim and his shop are amazing! We discovered them a few years ago when my husband and I took their fly fishing class. The class was great and got me hooked on the sport! We have done the smallmouth float trips with Charlie, Gavin and Tim. I didn't want the day to end because we were having so much fun! The guys were patient and incredibly knowledgeable teachers and knew how to put us on fish! I can't leave the shop staff out either. Dave and Pam are the best! I just started tying flies, and they have both been really helpful and give awesome tips and tricks. All the staff are super friendly! They remember your name and treat you like friends. I can easily lose an hour or three just chatting. I am so glad to have this shop in town and recommend them to everyone!
Probably the best customer experience I have had in a store/shop. Took a good amount of time setting myself up with tying equipment and material. Even took us to their set up and gave us some small tips/lessons on tying. They went above and beyond what I expected.
Absolutely AWESOME service. Pam helped me out and answered a bunch of my questions. Will definitely be back.
I love Tight Lines Fly Fishing Company. The people in shop are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our family has fished with most of the guides and been more than pleased with the experience. All the guides are top notch and willing to share their expertise to ensure you have the best experience. Love these guys!
I tagged along with my husband to pick up fly fishing pole and gear. While he was testing out the pole and chatting with the nice sales gent I was pleasantly surprised that I could do just as much shopping. Their outdoor attire and hat collection for females is great! And the shop dog was the best. PS: Husband loves his new pole and the help he got for identifying the right flies for the time of year/area he fishes. Thanks team!
Highly recommended, top of the line gear and the best selection in the area! I had been shopping around at box stores and online for a new rod and reel setup. Ended up stopping in to see what they had. I walked out with a way better setup for the money than anything I could find anywhere else. For less. They have a great selection of fly's and everything else you might need. Everyone on the staff is super friendly and has actually spent time on the water. They know what's up and it shows.
