I have been taking my daughter to this practice since she was very young due to asthma and pretty severe allergies. I have never had a difficult time with any of the staff and we have seen a couple different doctors at the practice, they have always given results of tests and explanations as well as plans moving forward. Dr. Jaffee has retired but Dr. Hardin is wonderful. We have also seen Dr. Kent and he was always great.
This place is horrible and we will be driving an hour to find another location. Our daughter is immune compromised, and we are seeking a consult for a bee sting. They are demanding she come into the office as opposed to telemedicine and when we asked if we could do the visit outside, they told us absolutely not. First, they advertise they will do telemedicine on their web page. Second, my daughter isn't being examined. This is about Dr. Lazarovich's poor attitude towards patient safety. If they see a patient, they can bill more than with telemedicine. Third, our pediatrician is located in the same building, next door, and has no issue doing outside visits. This place is horrible.
I went in with breathing difficulties on the 1st.. Dr L listened to my lungs, ordered a chest x-ray and lab work asap, said I had decreased breath sounds, and that he'd be in touch when the results came back. Sounds a bit scary. So I went the next day and had all the tests. And waited, and waited, and waited. No one ever called me back. I left them a message twice, finally get a message, on the 24th, to look at the portal for a message/ But no password to get onto the portal. Ridiculous. It doesn't even matter whether the results are normal, I should have been notified right away. His assistant stated she left me a message, ten days afterward, but I never heard anything -no email, no phone, no text. Seems to me their systems could use some work. At least when this happened at another practice I got an apology!
Possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a doctors office. I'd strongly advise people to look elsewhere for an allergist even if it requires traveling. I was seen by Dr. Hardin, who was very uninterested in actually listening to what my issues were, and seemed to only care about pushing me to get allergy shots for spring time allergies that are unrelated to why I made the appointment in the first place. She was very dismissive of the symptoms I had, and made no effort to attempt an accurate diagnosis and generally treated me like a child. The reception staff were very friendly, but aside from that I cannot speak poorly enough of this practice.
I had an excellent appointment with Dr. Hardin. She listened to my concerns with competence and compassion. I was concerned that I would be dismissed based on some of these reviews. I knew I wanted to avoid Dr. L, as I also searched around on all the medical review websites like Healthgrades, etc.. I'm thankful that I waited longer to see Dr. Hardin. I also have found the office and clinical staff to be kind and courteous. This practice deserves more than 2.7 stars!
We went yesterday to get my 5 year old tested for seasonal allergies along with strawberries. I assumed my fault that they would do 1 panel of allergens like I've been tested elsewhere. They tested each individually on my son's back and he screamed and cried as he was scared and said it hurt. Dr. Kent told him that he was making it worse by crying and to relax. This didn't help at all. My son cried so hard he coughed until he almost vomited and had to take off his mask. Dr. Kent then rudely said he had to put his mask on if he was going to cough and get his germs everywhere. Finally after I had to hold him down to finish testing, I let me son watch a video on my phone to get his mind off of the experience. 10min later when Dr. Kent came back in, he made a comment about awarding his bad behavior. I do not recommend that children see Dr. Kent. He was so rude and uncompassionate with my son
My doctor at Timber Lane Allergy is Cristina Carter. I have only positive things to say about her care and the value she puts on the patient experience. She presented my options clearly and went out of her way to provide me with the information I needed to make the best decision, coordinated my next steps with another provider so that I could proceed and get the treatment I needed. I was so impressed when she followed up with a call to check on the day of my treatment to make sure I was all set and then again afterwards to see how I was doing. I am very grateful.
I had no problems making an appointment as a new patient. Had allergy testing on my first appointment and was set up with immunotherapy within 1.5 weeks. Dr. Carter was very timely, efficient, and had good bedside manner. Went for my first shot today and it was super simple/streamlined. Staff was on time and professional.
Had a really bad experience. The check in staff were very nice, but it seems really weird and outdated to have a receptionist ask you a bunch of intake questions as opposed to filling out a form by yourself. Waited about 15 minutes to be called back. The MA was very curt and short with me. I was struggling with the lung function test and she made me feel really bad about it. I was following her directions but just couldn’t expire as long as she wanted me to. She made me feel like it was my fault. She made me take my albuterol inhaler before the allergy test and I was stressed because of the lung function test so I didn’t inhale enough when I pumped my inhaler. She made me feel bad for that too. She didn’t explain the allergy test procedure at all. I have already had an allergy test done in another state so I was familiar with the procedure, but it’s really unprofessional to not explain what you’re doing as you conduct the test. Verbalizing your actions and telling the patient what to expect makes them feel more safe and calm. After the test she barely put any hydrocortisone on my back so it was on fire for 30 minutes. I had to repeat the lung function test and waited for 20 minutes for the doctor. He came in and didn’t introduce himself or ask my name. He didn’t ask me any questions about my symptoms, history, medications, etc. He asked me very judgmentally and confrontationally why I wanted allergy shots. He made me feel bad for wanting them even though I have been previously recommended them. He asked me if my meds weren’t working and didn’t seem to understand why I don’t want to take three allergy meds every day for the rest of my life. He was very condescending and judgmental. He didn’t review my meds or offer alternative meds or solutions to allergy shots. He didn’t ask me any further questions beyond asking “any migraines? GI issues? Sleeping issues?” And that literally was it and was in and out in a minute. I never even got his name. Literally the worst bedside manner I’ve ever seen. He never explained the pulmonary function test and I was too afraid to ask questions. As a medical student, I was horrified by his bedside manner and the behavior of the MAs. I used to work in a busy outpatient clinic and understand how busy and pressed for time you get. That doesn’t mean you compromise good patient care. I had read the reviews and knew this place wasn’t great, but it was the only option. I definitely won’t be going back. Oh also- the waiting room and check in area looks absolutely terrible. Most outdated and clunky office waiting area ever
So far NOTHIN'. They've gotten my referral and no call. Called them, no person answered, so I messaged them, no call returned. It's a good thing my issue isn't life-threatening. From the reviews I've seen so far, maybe they are doing me a favor not responding. Guess I will look elsewhere. Better luck to anyone else who needs this sort of service~
