If you're looking to enjoy the authentic ski experience, the TimberHouse ski lodge is the place to go. Family run. Relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner served family style which gives you the opportunity to meet other ski enthusiasts while enjoying a hearty meal. The floors have the authentic creak of well worn hallways of skiers who came before you and each room is unique. The hospitality and cleanliness is the best you'll ever experience! Well worth all $$ spent!!!
My girlfriends and I stayed here last winter and let me tell you it was wonderful. We had private room with private bath. Had breakfast and dinner included in nightly price. the college kids who work there were awesome and I felt like I was at a 5 star resort but with a homey old feel. Meals are community style so I got to meet others from all over the country. The owner arranged ski rentals, transportation to and from slopes, watched old movies in the evening. Hot tubs available too! I would highly recommend!!
Great place. Cozy, with a little old-fashioned feel to it. The cabin is capable of being reached from a trail on the mountain. There is also a shuttle that takes you to and from the cabin. Two meals a day are served, so be warned: lunch will require you to go out. But since most people are on the mountain, it's not a huge issue.
This is an employee review, and worth reading if you are a prospective guest: The pay was rather low, a monthly stipend if you will. There is an end of season bonus which made this job seem worthwhile but that entails that the owners don't fire you before that happens which is very likely. The owners/bosses are completely rude and have no interest in respecting you or making you feel like you are anything more than a body to fill in for the jobs necessary to make this lodge perform at its most mediocre level. The owners are outright republicans and they openly express their distaste for democrats and any other non-republican political view for that matter. Yet they hire ski bums every season and expect them not to be ski bums. They have told me to shut up; they have thrown my breakfast in the trash because it was on the table and past the time to eat; they have never heard of please or thank you; they will not feed you breakfast unless you are clean shaven; they have condescended on me about smelling bad immediately after I had showered and applied deodorant; if you cannot make beds perfectly every single time or scrub the bowls under every toilet seat, they will get angry with you, tell you to do everything over again and walk away; they just make you feel downright rotten and worthless about yourself. When the season began, there were 9 staff. Within the first two weeks, 5 of them had quit including the chef. A new person came after that and quit after a few days. If they fire you, you have a total of one hour to pack your bags and be off of their property for them to forfeit your last paycheck and deposit to you. The contract you sign has an agreement in which they can terminate your contract at any time for no reason at all, and they explain this to you if and when they fire you. They fired three people in the winter 2015-2016 season, for no presumably good reason other than they most likely did not want to give us a bonus, and no longer needed our labor. I have never been more unhappy at a job than I have at Timberhouse.
I stayed here for a month 3 years ago. It was fairly comfortable and close to the slopes. A nice inexpensive place to stay but it was not super exceptional. As of the 2018-19 season they closed and I said have seen no evidence that they have reopened.
This is now operated as a place for Winter Park employees to stay during the season. It's no longer open to the public.

Nice staff, good food, somewhat reasonable prices.
Hospitality plus! Great atmosphere, meals and 5 star service!
Timberhouse ski Lodge is no longer operated as a public ski Lodge.
