I got California and Vegetable mix Susihoes from the student menu. I liked both, and it was totally enough for one person. Though we were not happy with their service and the table gave us. We were next to the hibachi girl and exposed to lots of smoke and bad smell.
So, so good. They’re busy, but the wait isn’t bad and the food is the best sushi in really the upstate in general. Not too saucy, right amount of filling, not too much rice, and not too overstuffed with confusing combos. Clean, yummy flavors. We usually get the tempuras, eel, tuna, and a few of the specialty rolls. We have NEVER been disappointed in any rolls that we have tried and keep finding new favorites though I feel like we’ve had them all at least once. The hibachi is not greasy and not overly saucy or salty, so it is above average for this area. I personally wish the ginger dressing was more gingery and chunky, but it tastes good, nonetheless. Their prices have gone up and the menu has changed a bit, but definitely worth it!
As a global avid sushi fanatic, I would have to say this place was a disappointment. The sushi was dry and lackluster in addition to the miso and veggie tempera appetizers. The ac unit was broken so the inside was 80 degrees on a 90 degree hot day. Definitely will not be coming back.Food: 2/5
The food was fantastic, and a couple sitting near me paid for my food without my knowledge of their kinds they had left before I found out, so I couldn't personally thank them. They did leave a card.Food: 5/5
We had wonderful experience from start to finish. Interior is nice, clean and smells good. Server was nice and attentive, it was fun hearing them play Taiko drum for a little bit. Food was good, fresh, generous amount. We started with really good salad, salmon tempura, then off to main dish of bento box and sushi roll, ended with fried cheescake served with ice cream.
I have been coming to Tokyo for at least 10 years now. Every year for my birthday my parents would take me to the hibachi tables. After I went to college and moved away I would frequent Tokyo as much as I could and would always throughly enjoy every dish that came across my table. Although in recent visits within the past year I have been very disappointed with the change in the fried rice. In the old days, I would literally visit this restaurant just because of the rice alone! Now ALL you can taste in the fried rice is onion… I understand that it’s probably the proper way to make the dish but it doesn’t need to be that over powering. If they fixed this issue then it would go back to being my favorite restaurant. Besides the rice, they do make phenomenal hibachi food. So if you can get past the onion rice then you will throughly enjoy this place. This restaurant still has a special place in my heart but I unfortunately can’t say it’s my favorite anymore.
This was the second visit and it was exactly as the first visit. Excellent. The restaurant combines a sushi bar and a hibachi grill. We go for the sushi only eventually we may also try the cooked food.Although we have yet to discover very good sushi outside NY or LA, I must admit that this place is excellent because the quality of the fish is superb and very fresh and offers a large variety of fish other than the “holy trinity“ -tuna salmon yellowtail- The preparation is skilled and visually pleasing. The service both times was consistent: attentive but not intrusive, friendly but not overbearing, polite and efficient. We had soup seafood miso and chicken bone both very good , an appetizer mini spicy tuna bowl, and 3 or 4 of the special rolls plus an eel unagi hand roll and this was the first time the seaweed was crispy and not the usual chewy or soggy thank you. We enjoyed and we will be back!
Had a business lunch here. Good service, small sushi menu but all they do is quality and habatchi popular. Nice presentation with reasonable portions. Small place. Lunch prices reasonable. Bench seats. Parking: On a corner of building with parking on the side, som shady in summer.
The first love roll is excellent. The hibachi is always good, as well.Food: 5/5
Wonderful food and service. We had top gun, rock and roll, seaking, scallop three-way and plum wine. We also had smoked salmon and sweet shrimp nigiri. You really should eat here!
