In February 2021 we ordered a sofa, two leather swivel chairs, a dining table and eight dining chairs from the Toms Price Old Orchard store. We specifically asked about timing. We were assured that everything would arrive in eight to ten weeks. The sales person put a delivery date of June 1st on our invoice. About a month later we ordered another custom sectional from their competitor. After the transaction with Toms Price, we did not receive any updates about our furniture, unless we asked. Their competitor sent us weekly updates. In early May, we were notified the sectional ordered from their competitor would be ready for delivery in late May and we were asked to set up a delivery day. I contacted Toms Price to find out the status of our furniture. The sales person avoided discussing timing of our sofa and swivel chairs. Instead, she said the dining chairs should arrive by the end of May. I pressed for the other items. After numerous e:mails and calls, she said the dining table would arrive in June and the sofa was delayed to the end of July. She completely avoided discussing the swivel chairs. I told her that the sectional that we ordered from her competitor was being delivered and she began to disparage her competition and claim they used inferior materials. The two stores literally sell many of the same lines of furniture! I was completely taken aback and felt that she was inferring that we were accepting low quality items. At this point it was June, I decided to call the manager and discuss the situation. At first she seemed very understanding and appeared to want to assist us. The manager told us that the sofa and chairs would be done by the end of July. I asked if we could cancel the swivel chairs, as we were very disappointed in the delay. She said, "Sure, as long as they are not in production." She called back and told us that the manufacturer said they were in production. That was June........it is now September 2nd. I just called and the sofa has finally arrived in their warehouse, but they can't deliver it for two weeks!!!! and the chairs won't be done until the end of September!!!!!!! Now what is the truth? Were the chairs really in production in June? I am so incredibly upset that I gave my business to an organization that has so little respect for its customers that it does not provide timely updates, disparages the client's other shopping choices and outright lies about timing/production, etc. Save yourself a ton of grief and go down the street and order your custom furniture from another store. They don't deserve the business.
Reasonably priced furniture, helpful and friendly staff. Shipping fee is also reasonable. We went to look for a simple yet sturdy bookcase, and there were plenty to pick and choose from. Our item is ordered for delivery, we did not need it right away so we are okay for the quoted lead time of 8-10 weeks for the specific brand/Model that we were looking for. There were also other furnitures that does have floor model right there then.
I have a Stickley bookcase a few years old, and lost the skeleton key which locks the doors. Emailed Toms-Price, and they shipped one immediately to me for free. Who knew such customer service existed in 2014!
