HIGHLY recommend TopCat Steno for your steno machine needs - service is top notch! Buddy communicated regularly and helped me immensely when my machine was caught in "limbo" with FedEx. I've used Buddy for several years and will continue on for many more!!
I've been working with Buddy and Dalaine for more years than any of us want to say out loud. My realtime board went out. I sent the machine to Buddy on Jan 20 and got it back today, the 28th. That's a MIRACULOUS turnaround. And it's just in time for my first big trial since COVID hit. I can't say enough good things. Thank you so much! God bless you.
Buddy is always so helpful and pleasant to work with. He is the best at steno knowledge and repair. I have been using Buddy for 30 years and have always been happy with his service. I highly recommend Top Cat Steno.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. This place is a sham and Buddy, the owner, does not stand behind his product. After spending $280 and shipping, the bluetooth connector I bought from him failed after one year and two weeks. After paying shipping to sending it back to Top Cat Steno to have it looked at, I was told it would cost $120 to fix an obviously defective product. He would not honor the warranty even though it was two weeks past. He made it clear that if it was a day over the warranty he would not honor it and would charge the same. He was dismissive, smug and argumentative and when I pressed the point, he hung up on me. Not the way to do business, in my opinion.
I have been sending my court reporting machine for repair and maintenance to Top Cat for over 20 years. They have always been great to work with, and I wouldn't trust my machine to anyone else!
