The Capital City KOA is the largest and top rated campground in the Topeka area. All RV sites are full service with Free Cable TV and Wi-Fi internet access. We have just added a new Salt Water Pool, and completed our first few Deluxe Patio Sites. We also have redone many of our Tent sites, which now have electricity and a site light.

Our main building is a turn of the century Barn, which house's our General Store, Rec-room, Exercise room, and Group Facilities.

Other amenities include: 3 fishing ponds, playground, hiking trail, horse shoes, exercise room, Kamp K9 for the family dog, and lots of wide open space.

No RV? No problem! We have large open tent sites, and three types of rental units. Our Cabin sleeps 4 and our bunkhouse sleeps 6. Both units have a refrigerator, outside cooking area, picnic table, and cable TV. Our Deluxe Cabin sleeps 4, has all the amenities of our other cabins plus a full bath, mini kitchen, outside grill and campfire ring (an excellent choice for the non-roughing it types).

Our KOA is located near all the area attractions: State Capitol, Museums, Race Tracks, Shopping, Nightlife, Art Galleries, University of Kansas, Washburn University, and many more.

My fiancé and I have stayed at a lot of KOAs, and this is a great one! We had a camp site. They’re all right next to the bathrooms, so it was super convenient. Bathrooms were clean, and they have a separate shower room as opposed to a bathroom with shower stalls, so there was more space than normal to keep your clothes and belongings dry. It might be an issue for some if more than one person is wanting to shower at once though. They have good laundry facilities. Gravel road is quite bumpy going in, but it’s nothing terrible, especially if you’re in a car. Would stay here again!

We stayed here for one night while passing through. They were great and gave us a site near the bathrooms because we have a handicapped family member. We arrived late at night and check-in/check-out was super easy.  On our side of the campground, there was only one shower, but it wasn't an issue. There's more on the other side of the KOA though. The shower could've been a bit cleaner, but we came super late on a Sunday night. The rest of the grounds were well-maintained. Very pretty ponds, picnic table, and pool.

This park was quiet for us because our site was below a hill that blocked the freeway noise. Otherwise it would have been quite noisy. The salt water pool was great. Road construction in the area was challenging, but should be completed by next season. I would stay here again.Service: 5/5

We rented an RV site so I am not sure how the cabins were.  The sites are clean. Had sewer hookups and 50 amp service.  Wish there was a little more green space between campers and a little further away from the interstate.  The staff is wonderful, friendly, and inviting.Service: 5/5

We stay at a lot of koa and this one was not taken care of. Every pull in was not leveled. We pay more for the patio areas ours was broken up pipe sticking out. Area with firepit the bricks were a mess and unlevel, all the furniture was rusted.  We came back Saturday evening and there was a site with 7 or more cars parked in the rd way we all most couldn't get our truck in. The rd ways in,around and out of the park were full of pot holes. The cable and wifi didn't work. Instead of nice views the grass coming in was over grown and they use the place for storage it appears.  Their gift shop was the smallest of any other koa. They only have one trash for the whole site all the way in the front.

The campground was very nice. Nice level sights. The issue for us was highway noise and train noise all night. Both were just outside the park.Service: 5/5

We travel a lot and always at the KOA if available. We made a reservation at this KOA at midnight one night and got up and changed our mind and called to cancel it first thing the next morning. They charged us the full amount and when I called them I talked to the owner and he refused to just charge us the $10 which is customary for KOA. So we paid the full amount for nothing. Ridiculous! And he blamed it on KOA policy but we have had this happen in the past and it was fixed with a $10 charge. We won’t ever stay at this KOA!

This was a very nice KOA campground. Charlie the owner has done a wonderful job of keeping this place looking top notch all the time. The amenities were clean and well taken care of. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Clean, quiet and a good place to take the family for weekend fun. Fishing, swimming,campfires and walking trail. Staff and owners are friendly and very helpful.Rooms: 5/5
