Great building with good bones, would make a fine affordable housing development which would greatly increase this building's usefulness to the City of Haverhill. It currently functions as some sort of group home, one where the occupants are blissfully unaware of their own shortcomings. This building was the former high school and Bob Montana, the creator of "Archie Comics" attended school here. If you pick the right mens' room you may be urinating in the same stall that Jughead once used; history does indeed come alive in these halls!
It like going to beg for any information. I had the chance to walk into several offices and all the people that gave me information was fed up of their job. Not a great way to be received in the city.
They charged me 3x the total due on my excise tax as a "demand" for being late, when I never received the bill. I tried to call and sort it out, and was treated horribly by very irritable representatives. I was told "it's illegal" to remove the fees places on an excise tax bill, but they couldn't point me to the law when I had asked what law that was. Complete lack of respect, and due-diligence, and apparently they make up fake laws? This town will nickel and dime you. I'm glad this "demand" can end up going into someone's pocket as a bonus. This is a sleezy run down town with mostly terrible roads. This was the push I needed to find another place to live. Thinking of moving to Haverhill? DON'T!
Despite everything being labeled, navigating the building is a serious issue. They need mall style maps.
Staff in the city clerk's office were amazing and very friendly and helpful. City Hall loses points as 4 of the 5 close "30 minute - customer only" parking spaces were taken up by cars with staff parking permits.

How can I start a petition for public soccer field? The city of Haverhill has plenty of parks and open areas. Having a place designated to soccer would be easy to do I believe. I am new to Haverhill so if there are soccer fields please send the information my way.
The city hall of Haverhill is operating but is not open for anybody who comes without appointment.
Great venue. Wish we could use it more often for theater, movies and other entertainment.
City Hall is a grand old building with lots of character and warmth.
