My family and I were visiting Roswell in August of this year. We were looking for a clean hotel to stay in and thought we had found it. I will tell you the hotel is beautiful however, we asked if we could see a room prior to checking in and were told that we could not. We went ahead and checked in and grabbed our luggage to take inside. I guess I am a little paranoid about staying in hotels and I always check the headboard and mattress first thing. To my surprise there were "ink marks" and a bed bug as soon as I moved the top mattress away from the headboard. We did not want to make a big fuss in the lobby. My husband went to grab the front desk person to show them quietly. She asked if we wanted to change rooms and my husband replied that we were fine changing rooms as long as she knew the room didn't have bed bugs. She then acted like she was upset with us and just told us she was just going to refund us because she could not keep moving us from room to room. We had not changed rooms prior to this. This was an awful experience. I honestly would not have been so upset if she would have had a better attitude. We are very understanding people and know that this is something that just happens in the hotel business. Anyway we ended up staying at another Marriott, the Fairfield. It was very clean and the staff were very polite.
Great location, close to Walgreens and restaurants. The hotel was very close to New Mexico Military Institute, which was where our event was held within 10 min walk. Somehow we ended up with a disabled room- the bathroom smelled a little like urine, but appeared clean. We had a two bedroom suite, nice and spacious. The suite had small signs of wear and tear, but overall met our objective. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection. The fitness center was small, but nice. I did not use the pool, but there were a lot of people that seem to be enjoying it. They ran out of doggie bags, but I brought my own just in case. I mentioned it to the front desk, but they never replaced them during our stay.
Every TownPlace is usually clean and updated and this one was no different. Rooms had everything you need and the beds were clean and comfy. The bathroom was very clean and it’s great that you can borrow all the extra amenities you might need for the kitchen or entertainment. They have a large breakfast spread and a great pool. Shout out to Cotton who did a phenomenal job checking us in and making us feel at home. He also gave us some great suggestions of places to eat and see in the area. Don’t forget to ask for suggestions! You never know what you might get!
Not recommended. Poor value for the price. To start off with, they wanted to charge me $10 for parking In Roswell NM of all places!! I don't recall that notified when I booked that I had to pay for parking. The clerk was not friendly when I questioned the parking fee. They actually billed me $10 on each room I booked, even though we were all in one car. Front door did not have an automatic opener and it was difficult to navigate with a loaded baggage cart. No staff offered to help. Staff smoking area by the rear guest entrance was a stinky mess. Yuck.
Unexpectedly a great experience. Wish hotel breakfast in America was as healthy as it is in Europe. I can’t take much more of these Cisco processed individually packaged muffin breakfasts. It’s honestly healthier to eat nothing than to indulge in this complementary meal. Overall, would stay at this hotel again when we’re back in Roswell. Wish they had a king bed in one bedroom instead of the two separate queens, but whatever. Great sunrise and sunset views too!
First of all, expect to pay a $10 "parking lot" fee. This was not disclosed to me when booking, otherwise I probably would've chose elsewhere. That may not sound like much and I wouldn't mind paying if the fee went to security or something along those lines. However, they inform you that there is no extra security and like anywhere else, don't leave valuables and lock up. So, now that you know this, maybe you won't be as annoyed as I was. The rooms are decent however I had concerns that my sheets had actually been washed. There was stuff on them, near the bottom where you're feet would rest. We only had one trashcan located under the sink. Inconvenient not to have one in the bathroom area as well. The lighting is awful for the floor plan. You can't really use the bathroom at night without waking someone from turning on the lights. Usually there's a partition or something. Everything in the snack/drink area has a serious upcharge. $3.15 for a pack or regular Starbursts. FYI. The outdoor pool area is decent, pretty standard. The free breakfast had a decent selection of cereal, yogurts, juice, eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Would I stay here again, probably not.
Receptionist was very pleasant and accommodating when we shared offensive odor in our room. She was eager to place us in another acceptable room. I think her name was Kristina overnight Tuesday, August 8th. Nearby activities: Highly recommend visiting UFO Museum and Research Center!
Overall the best place i've found in Roswell for corporate travel, will stay here again. Quiet, safe, clean and comfortable. Breaksfast service was great, front desk was cheery, beds were comfy and other guests were nice enough.Rooms: 5/5
The air conditioning hits the bed, and does not cool the room. Eventually it did get cool. The tub does not drain properly, eew. My husband bought a plunger and fixed the tub. The shower has a loud squel. And this is the world's tiniest Tele! The rest was clean and comfortable. Thank you.Service: 3/5
