Township Six Fire Department is an all volunteer Fire Department in Craven County, NC in between the cities of Havelock and New Bern.
Welcome to TWP-SIX VOL. FD.
Our department is located in Craven County NC. We are a total volunteer Fire Department with approximately 35 firefighters and Ladies Aux/supporting members approx. 15-20. The Dept is funded by a local fire tax from residents.
Our fire district covers 137 square miles in eastern North Carolina and includes a large portion of the Croatan National Forest. There are approximately 2,330 homes in our district (and increasing) including at least six mobile home parks, several churches and businesses, two junkyards a county recycling center as well as two large sportsmen's clubs with several out buildings. There is also a four lane HWY (US HWY70) that passes through our district. With the Military Base next door. Therefore many different supplies, chemicals, fuels and explosives travel through our district to the base. There is also a train that travels through our area also supplying the base and continues on to the port in Morehead City.
Our department Runs approx. 125-160 calls a year give or take a few... Approximately Fifty of these calls are fire calls not all were structural fires. Some were woods, brush, vehicle and junk fires. We also provided mutual aid to surrounding Departments assisting with many fires.

We are always looking for volunteers ages 18 and up. Our oldest at this time is 85 yrs old. There is always something for you to do.
