Words can’t describe how thankful I am with David. What a kind, passionate soul he is. I got a tour that took roughly 3 hours in which he goes into depth historical facts and the way he explains it’s almost like he brings history back to life. This place has so much history and so many amazing things to learn and see, it’s truly remarkable! I never had a tour so detailed in my life! He really takes his time to go over historical details and he memorized everything! He’s remarkable! I went with my 6 year old son and he said David was like Mr. Einstein because he shares so much information! He makes you feel so proud of Tracy. I honestly was not expecting so much history in war. He goes over so many amazing facts. It’s one of those things you have to be there to truly appreciate it! Tracy has amazing history!!! I am truly grateful of my experience. He’s so funny and easy going and welcomes all kinds of questions as he loves informing others. We need more people with this type of passion in the world! 5 stars I feel does not give it enough justice.

My husband and I visited Tracy museum for the first time today, very interesting history of city of Tracy. David gave us a tour throughout the whole building and actually learned some interesting stories we did not know. Thank you David for all your stories. Came from Stockton ca to visit
Nice museum, started the tour and was there for about 1.5 hours. Did not finish seeing everything, will come back next time for the second half.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Tracy has a long and interesting history, and that history has shaped the city into what it is today. At the Tracy Historical Museum, you’ll learn about the people who helped develop Tracy, its rich railroad and agricultural heritage, and the Native American culture of the area. This visual presentation includes a variety of exhibits featuring artefacts, photos, and many other authentic items that paint the story of Tracy. The building that holds this history is also historic. The knowledgeable staff can provide you with a tour of the museum if you book ahead.
David gave us a great tour of the Museum! I would highly recommend this tour if you live in Tracy!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
You really need almost 3 hours if you want a guided tour, quite a bit to take in.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Despite what the posted hours say it is best to call and make an appointment for a Tour. The older couple that was working the place just stayed out of our way unless we had any questions. We had the whole place to ourselves. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a tour guide.
Oh my....just fantastic. When your more excited than your kids, it's gonna be a good day, haha....! First time for me at a Night in The Museum style place. Loved everything . Was not one exhibit that we missed. Diffinitely will be going back.
"3 STARS" For the museum "5 STARS" Because I live here! Being that this city is where I call home "until we move to Hawaii"; I found it fitting to write about our city, so I decided to visit the "Tracy Historical Museum" to find out more. I know when we first moved here, the population was only 18,000 and now, the population exceeds 82,000 and growing, although slowly. Tracy was known as a "bedroom community" back then where by day, people commuted to the Bay Area to work and returned at night to sleep.  The city had a few restaurants back then, but nothing prominent such as "Texas Roadhouse," "Ihop," or "Olive Gardens" of today. I recall the Shell Station on Grant Line Road was the main gas station and the surrounding open "dirt lot" was nothing more than a huge parking lot for truckers, who stopped here and dined at the restaurant across the street, now known as Black Bear Diner can't remember the name of the former restaurant. The only major grocery center here was "Savemart" before the arrival of Safeway, Raley's, and Wal-Mart, followed by "West Valley Mall and Costco" years later. This city, that I call home, believe it or not, started off as a "Rail Road Station."
