This is a huge restaurant with live outdoor music and was quite busy. The walk up to the restaurant is nice with the path all light up at night. This restaurant is one of the more expensive options on the island. The food was interesting and inventive, but felt a little off. The lobster bisque was more on the watery side. The scallops had a little grit to them as well. The sea bass special was well cooked. The service was excellent.
Traders Restaurant is open and ready to serve. I did not try the food, but went in to the gift shop. The items are unique and beautiful. You will find: necklaces, puzzles, candles, art and many more options. I would highly suggest coming in for a bite to eat and shop while supporting the businesses on Sanibel Island.Service: 5/5
This is a very fine place to dine! The menu is good! Lots of fish! I tried the tuna which is listed as an appetizer with seaweed and vegetable slaw! It was excellent! Loved it! My daughter had pasta with tomatoes and artichokes. She opted out of the shrimp since she’s vegetarian. It was excellent. Our friends had red snapper and mahi mahi which they both said were excellent! The key lime pie was delicious which tasted like it was flavored with honey! This is a wonderful place for a date or to have a nice dinner with friends! There’s outside dining as well, and they did have some music tonight!
We liked this restaurant. Our server was really good. The food good too. Decent atmosphere. This was really more like a 4.5, but since that isn’t an option on Google reviews and leaned more towards a 4 I gave it a 4.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
Service was wonderful. The food was delicious had an awesome time and the gift shop was beautiful . If you ever in Sanibel island, go and try it out.
-Gotta say, I been trying to get a table here for years.. true story. I tried almost all of the restaurants on this island, and everytime I wanted this place, it happed to be closed. Then one day, it just worked out. -The restaurant itself was huge parking lot, building, tons of tables. Inside was nicely designed, looked awesome. Bathroom was super clean, so far was impressed. -Waitress was super nice, kept this great vibe going so far. -Then the food came. Maybe it was the fact that this place has finally been checked off our list, on top of already having a good day so many outside influences could effect a meal, but I wasn't the only one that said this was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. It was ridiculously good, and I wasn't the only one that felt this way. I ate my meal, I tried some of another, both were worthy of a last meal. -This was long winded, but I just had to let someone know to stop in this place if they're hungry and on this island. -The waitress said the chef was named Mike, worked there for many years. -Well he was a wizard in that kitchen... Magic Mike...
We had a lovely dinner at Traders. The picture of the fish was a special and was a split dish between two people, so it was smaller. The white gazpacho was a fresh, pleasant surprise. Our server, Jason, was knowledgeable and friendly.
another great meal at Traders, consistently delicious food, great service, live music that complements the experience. Spoke with the manager who was very engaged in a good way with the whole operation and has been with the restaurant for years. will continue to love this place that will be a good reason to visit the island or remain if you are already there. had white gazpacho first and black beans & rice with blackened chicken; very satisfied. my wife enjoyed the parm encrusted grouper. lots of groups as well as couples. cool bar near the entrance.
Food was great but I didn’t have a good experience. We had 19 people with 8 kids at a separate table and the staff bought the kids food before we even took our order. By the time our food arrived our kids were completely restless and running around the place. They were helpful about giving me gluten-free choices and the Magi that I ordered was excellent.
Food was excellent, service perfect our new fav place on Sanibel!!
