Mission:
Tri-State Neurosurgery was established to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive multidisciplinary care to patients with brain, spine, and movement disorder problems like Parkinson's disease, tremors, abnormal muscle contractions. Our collaborative medical team includes doctors in neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology, radiology, physiology, and advanced practitioners who have specialized training in brain, spine, and movement disorders and the issues associated with these conditions.
Description:
We are the only center in Louisiana and the Ark-La-Tex to offer the advanced technique of asleep deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease, tremors, and abnormal muscle contractions. This procedure is performed by fellowship-trained brain and spine surgeon Dr. Jessica Wilden. This improved and innovative technique is now performed with the patient asleep under general anesthesia under the guidance of live MRI scans; this is a significant improvement to the older way of performing this procedure, which required the patient to be awake (!) during brain surgery.
In addition, we provide cutting-edge surgical treatment for other brain disorders, including brain tumors, hydrocephalus, pseudotumor cerebri, Chiari malformation, and other pathologies.
We provide surgical correction for spine problems as well that cause debilitating back, neck, arm, or leg pains. We offer the latest surgical techniques for spinal disorders, stenosis, disc herniation, pinched nerve, and other spine diseases. Contact us to get moving in the right direction!
