Trillium Cafe

We stopped just for a snack, but it turned into us having lunch. It’s been fun letting bartenders make our drinks based on what we like when we know there is a full bar. The Mac and Cheese was listed as a Specialty on the menu, so I was ready to be impressed. Let me tell you. OMG. This was freaking amazing. It wasn’t full of extras, just the best ingredients. As much as I wanted to just sit and shovel it in my mouth, I made myself eat it very slow so I could enjoy and remember it forever. My lunch companion’s meals were described as good and tasty. The fresh cut fries were really, really good. Establishment was clean, the service was friendly and prompt.

I visited Trillium Café late at night in the summer of 2019. It was one of the few businesses open that late at night. I have since tried to visit again, also late at night, but found they were not serving from the menu that late. They just had a few items that were easy to put together in the kitchen, but nothing that constituted a meal. The one time I visited, the service was excellent and my food arrived promptly. I ordered a Cheeseburger with fries. It was one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had in Hood River. I’ve heard they also have great fish and chips.If you’re looking for a very casual dining option, with a small but good menu, consider checking out Trillium Café the next time you’re in Hood River.

The burgers are phenomenal and the house but fries are thick and seasoned very well. My husband had tater tots and he loved them. I had the club sandwich and it was so good the bread was perfectly toasted and the bacon was crisp and the veggies were fresh and tender. My daughter had the chicken parmesan sandwich and she loved it. The sauce was seasoned well and the cheese melted perfectly. We will definitely be back. Kudos to the waitress. When we walked in there were a few tables of people but after about 15 minutes she was slammed. She managed to keep her cool, be organized and stay level headed with the huge influx of customers.

Locally this is the late night spot on a weekend to go if you and the lads or ladies just want to have beer and enjoy the game! A little hole in the wall cozy and comfortable enough to allow a few folks to just relax and enjoy food in a calm atmosphere and open environment. :

Food was excellent. Toddlers shared a meatloaf Mac and cheese surprisingly delicious! but the chicken charlie, spinach salad and those fries, O.M.G! And the service was on point. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you! Kid-friendliness: Minors allowed in dining room 11a-9p. It’s a bar, but the bartender/server was super friendly and great with the littles.

If you're looking to spend 18 dollars on a bowl of overly sharp, yet somehow flavorless mac and cheese-- look no further! Add a single small chicken breast for just 6 bucks! Look, I get it. The economy is not the best atm, but 18 bucks for a medium sized bowl of mac and cheese? 20+ bucks for a burger? 12 dollars for 2 microscopic sliders with store bought buns? I don't mind ponying up the cash for food, but if you're going to rob me at least make the food taste good :P.

AMAZEBALLS!!!!!! MUST TRY the in house homemade hummus plate w the turkey monster and basil pesto sandwich!!!! ON POINT AND OFF THE HOOK. We were on a small road trip and found this VERY friendly eclectic lil dive bar. We will be back soon.

So, this place has a lot going for it. If they could dial in the grub, they'd have a winning combination. I had the Uranium burger, and for a Garlic and Blue Cheese Burger my taste buds were thoroughly underwhelmed. The staff were friendly and courteous as well as quick. The fries that accompanied my burger were very good. I just wish I had been able to move some of that flavor to my burger. This really is a fun little hole in the wall, smack dab in the midst of Hoodsville on Oak. Give it a go sometime. Mileage may vary.
