Went to the ER as was recommended by an urgent clinic dr. The dr I saw was working at the Grandview ER but is from Trinity Med. He explained my options which included a blood transfusion that he kept pushing that I needed, even though this is not even the reason I went in to begin with. He left and I thought through it and felt uneasy and very pressured into doing lab work and X-rays and blood transfusion when all I went into the clinic for which referred me here was to treat my sinus infection/bronchitis that they had just diagnosed me with. The dr never came back in his name was dr Nicademus I think?, and I was met with a nurse who wanted to take me and get X-rays. I refused the service. Then I was met with a nurse who wanted to take blood for a bunch of more unnecessary lab work, which I also refused. This second nurse was visibly upset that I wasn’t complying and said she would get the dr. I explained to him that I only wanted to be treated for my sinus infection and the bronchitis diagnosis which was in my paperwork from the other clinic. He turned angry and kept telling me that I will probably die if I don’t do the labs etc. then he went on to say that for my infection and bronchitis all he would recommend is an over the counter allergy medication, and if I want anything else then I need to call the first clinic back and have them deal with it. He never actually looked and me or checked me out- but just dismissed me and didn’t listen at all to what I really needed. Such a horrible experience and a huge waste of my day! I only needed a prescription of antibiotics for my infection. After getting a second opinion at UAB, i received my prescription and am doing great! Sadly, i got slammed with thousands of dollars from this Dr, who didn’t do anything. I am self-pay VERY upset about the whole experience and greediness.

The best I can say is I love dr katie.  She is so amazing and an inspiration to me in so many ways. Thank you for all you do for me and so many others
