True Value

This place is always a joy to shop because it’s clean, organized, and the people are helpful. My most recent transaction involved a Uhaul trailer rental. Brandon is who helped me. He was super patient with me and even let me borrow a 7 way-4 pin trailer wiring adapter. When I came back 4 days later he was the one who checked the trailer back in and he was still quick, courteous, and super efficient.

The most important thing I can highlight is the prices, they are close to the same as the big stores.

After just having a terrible experience with another hardware store just down the road who had two of my chainsaw blades for over 3 weeks waiting to be sharpened, I took my blades back and brought them to True Value. Less than 20 hours later, I received a call that they have been sharpened and we're ready to be picked up. Great job!

Good old fashioned hardware store, similar to ACE and the same friendly home town people there. I wish I had gone here first as the prices are actually better than Amazon, for the items that I needed. Actually, I had to take the Husqvarna Chainsaw from Amazon there for warranty work since Amazon wouldn't take it back when it wouldn't start. Next time, I will just go here!

The people here are as friendly as any similar store you can find if not more so. It definitely has more of a local family feel than any competitor. For many larger items they are more expensive than their larger competitors and don't price match, but they are much more convenient especially for smaller items and things that hauling longer distances presents issues. Only thing that keeps them from being a 5 is the inability to price match.

My experience at True Value Oakbrook was incredible. John was great in helping me find my 5gallon GP Hydraulic fluid. He was also super hunky.

Store is good. Service is good. Their True Value weed and feed is TRUEly a TERRIBLE value. I recently bought 30,000 Aw ft of their weed and feed and it not only did NOT kill the weeds on the yard, now my nearly 3/4 acre yard has a new weed that has taken over about 80% of it. Please do not do this to yourself. I listened to the sales rep and he recommended the TV brand weed and feed. Never again. Their other brands are too cost prohibitive not to get from a big box retailer.

I love coming to this place! Yes its a little more expensive BUT it's locally owned so I know my money is going to the right place. They were open when tornadoes ripped through Chattanooga and I was able to get a chainsaw to help remove trees from my neighbors. Staff is always nice and willing to do anything to help!

I went in multiple times for different paint samples before we finally decided on one we liked. The employees were so nice and helpful! They even remembered what paint I ended with when o went back for something else a week or so later. Great customer service!

This place is very clean and organized. The staff is friendly and attentive. Connor especially helped me out on 2 separate occasions now and took the time to help me remove a pin from a jack lever. Exceptional service!
