Excellent location and trails within this county park are awesome. $20 for electric site. No showers but flushing restrooms. Great staff, lots of wildlife. Next door to Saguaro National park and Desert Museum.
Gorgeous, clean and filled with easy hiking trails. My husband and I love to take our miniature schnoodle here for desert hikes, definitely have to put the puppy shoes on the dog though. There's lots of cactus and pokies near the trail. Also, absolutely stunning at sunset too!
Beautiful space for pictures and meditation. We camped in our cars for 2 nights here and had wonderful sleep aside from one car going on a death cruise in the middle of the night at the speed of potential regret. There are porta potty areas in a few of the pull in areas. This is a natural area with wildlife. 2 coyotes approached me. We all startled eachother and went our own ways, but it happened and now I'm writing about it on Google .
Beautiful vistas greet you as you drive through Gates Pass route. You may want to take another route if you are towing a camper, planning a stay at Gilbert Ray campground within the park.
Great area to hike and see some cool history
Beautiful place to get pictures or do some hiking, lots of places will have shade in different parts of the day. Love this beautiful place
Absolutely my fave place to escape. Not well known by either locals or tourists, I frequent the outer edges of this beautiful Sonoran treasure to get away and reset my soul. Thousands of Saguaros, dozens of miles of hiking trails for all levels makes for the possibility to feel like you can commune in the desert alone.
This area is beautiful. We came around sunrise and really enjoyed a leisurely hike, with the cooler air and sun slowly coming up. The saguaros are truly impactful. The trails was a bit hard to identify but we still enjoyed ourselves and found our way around w the help of a trails app. Do watch out for the jumping chollas, ouch!
This is a great mountain range. The hiking is a lot of fun and the scenery is amazing! I would say it has hiking for different levels of hikers. Sunrises from here are absolutely beautiful.
Therapeutical, never crowded. All walks of life but always respectful. Restrooms: Clean Picnic area: Spread out and lots of elbow room.
