We love this place! Whenever we need our London fix we come here and eat the same food we would eat in a pub in London. It’s classic pub food, nothing spectacular nothing disappointing. Service staff are very friendly with good banter, atmosphere is very nice. It’s one of the places you can order a pint of Guinness with black currant and they’ll bring it to you without a “ha?”. Their King size Fish N’ Chips and Poached cod is particularly good. We haven’t tried their Sunday roast or curries, I’ll report back when we do. If you are in Santa Monica and need to get your London fix, give it a good go. Update on 8/27 We went there for their Sunday roast. They have lamb, beef and veggie patty. Our friends said the lamb was a little over cooked but the Yorkshire pudding was really nice. Lastly we had their apple pie and it was very good.
I really like the ambiance and the service! The parking might be tough.. let’s be real, it’s Santa Monica. The food is good, but you’re getting bar food.. nothing special. I ordered the king size fish and chips, which the server recommended I get both the beer-battered and the original. The fries “chips” was thick-cut style with some type of seasoning that I was not familiar with. We also got the “Bar Burger” medium-rare with cheese, which I thought it was really juicy and delicious. They also play important European Soccer games. Overall I would definitely go back and maybe for brunch this time and their breakfast menu. Parking: Side of the street or the parking structure
I've been to the Yee Olde Kings head a few times with a large group of friends, the service has always been really good and so is the food. The Caesar salad was amazing and so were these samosas. I would definitely recommend checking out the Ye Olde Kings head and I plan on coming back.Food: 5/5
Very interesting and cute experience! Highly recommend to try it out at least once with friends. Great for catching up. The snacks were pretty tasty. Vegetarian options are included. The tea selection, while limited, is sure to satisfy most. The staff was courteous. The locale is also just a stone's throw from the beach and pier!
I had been wanting to come here for awhile and it surpassed my exceptions! The English Breakfast was amazing, my wife for the Shepherd’s Pie and I had to steal some of that off her plate. I will be back very soon! Also, the gift shop attached to the restaurant has soo many goodies make sure you bring extra cash for that too!Food: 5/5
Great traditional English Pub here on the Westside overlooking Ocean Ave! A very authentic experience with a mostly British staff, Punçtual service and Hearty portions. Felt like I was transported straight back to London! They also have a gift shop next door with British souvenirs and a bakery. Parking is at the 3rd Street Promenade structure with 1.5 hours free.
I happened to stop by when Manchester United was playing against Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. A lot of Brits yelling and screaming. I had an Irish beer Guinness and an English meal Fish n Chips and an absolutely great time!! Manchester United won 1 - 0. British people are a lot of fun!!Food: 5/5
I enjoy this restaurant for a mid afternoon snack and break from busy Santa Monica. I enjoyed the broccoli soup and tea in front of the fireplace on this visit. My server was so friendly and the respite enjoyable. The establishment is showing its age a bit physically, but consider it part of the charm.
The best English pub around. Famous. Any night or day you will find plenty of English and Irish folks eating, playing darts and catching up.
If your from the UK and you miss home, you’ll find it here at Ye Olde King’s Head. I went with a friend to watch the England vs France game during the 2022 World Cup. While unfortunately England lost thanks Harry Kane, it was a lively atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else around this area. Yelling, chanting, screaming and singing. It’s all passion. I ordered the Queen Size English Breakfast. It’s a solid hearty meal with eggs over easy, Heinz beans with tomato sauce that goes great with toast, roasted tomatoes, bacon more like ham and a banger sausage. No complaints here. I originally just came for some pints of Guinness but the meal was exactly as I expected. The rest of the menu has a lot of British staples, like Shepherds Pie and Fish and Chips. I recommend the Sausage Rolls! The service was slow, but the place was at max capacity and I commend the servers for doing their best during one of the busiest days of the year at the Kings Head essentially any day England has a big game. If you plan on going to a football game soccer, expect a line the second they open. They don’t allow holding tables, so make sure your whole group is with you. If your going on a causal weekday/ weekend, you won’t have to worry. I absolutely love this place. It’s location also makes it a great pit stop if your a tourist. Can’t wait for the next England game and the memories to follow! COME ON ENGLAND!
