Who are we?
We are a melting pot of college students, young professionals, minimalists, entrepreneurs, law officers, teachers, gymnasts, martial artists, tree-huggers, skate boarders, musicians, and people of many other backgrounds and cultures all driven and inspired by the same thing, the art of motion commonly known as parkour and/or freerunning.
Why do we do Parkour?
Heres a better question, why not? It’s fun, it’s an amazing workout, it’s a positive outlet that can calm the mind, and reduce stress levels in a heartbeat. At first glance, many people say that what we practice is foolish, crazy, reckless, or putting our lives in danger, but the truth of the matter is that what we do is just misunderstood. We didn’t just wake up one day and decide to jump on a rail, or launch ourselves at a wall! We were inspired by the idea of freerunning, and conciously decided to do it. We worked up to the things we do today much like a discipline in the martial arts, and as we did so we began to discover just what our bodies are capable of.
What is our biggest challenge?
Unfortunately our business was strongly impacted last year when our mobile gym, full of equipment, invested time, & effort, was stolen from us. This left us in a position where we were forced to rebuild it from the ground up if we wanted to keep the momentum going... The only bright side to this unfortunate situation is that we have been able to learn from the mistakes in our first build, and make the mobile gym even better than before. The functionality, efficiency, and versatility of this project is still growing today as we continue to rebuild our foundation and implement it into our day to day training regimen and class curriculums. With your help we've been able to create better, build faster, and grow stronger. It took us over a year to gather all the equipment and put everything together the first time. Thanks to the amazing support from the Tapp Brothers, American Parkour, and all of our supporters inside and outside of the ever growing international community we have managed to almost make it back to where we were even stronger than before in less time.
This just goes to show that no obstacle is to big, be it physical or mental. If you set your mind to the goal in hand and stay focused, nothing can stop you. You don't have to be great to start, you just have to start to be great. Long term consistency trumps short term intensity, and slow progression definitely beats no progression at all.
