Dr. Turfah is an amazing surgeon and person. He did my mother’s surgery. We made the best decision of choosing him. He explained very well why my mom needed surgery and how to take care of my mom so she can heal faster. The front desk girls are amazing especially Estere. Both of them helped me a lot and I will never forget the kindness they showed us.
Dr Turfah has always been thorough and kind. I have had several intestinal surgeries and I only trust him.

Dr Turfah is a busy man, and that's because he is the best at what he does. Beginning with my father over 12 years ago, he had done 3 lifesaving surgeries and even stopped by the funeral home when my Dad passed. Our family will go no where else for any procedures that are able to be done by him.I trust him totally.
No one would work on my 88 year old grandma. The doctors all said she was high risk and to let her die. She needed a gallbladder removed or she would die. Dr. Turfah was the only one who would touch her surgery and she made it with flying colors. She is 90 years old now and so far he has given my family two wonderful years with her that we would have missed. Plus she is still doing great. I would recommend this angel to everyone i meet. If i could give him 100 stars he would severely deserve it.
Best Decision I made was having Dr Turfah perform my surgery. October 2018 I went to the ER due to pain and the feeling of something on my buttocks area. The ER confirmed I had an abscess with a fistula so they admitted me into the hospital to help manage my pain. Dr. Turfah came to talk to me in the morning to explain the procedure he said was necessary. I admit I was nervous so I asked two family doctors who are friends of mine what they thought of him. They both told me he is their surgeon of choice if needed. After a successful procedure I wanted confirmation that everything was ok. I went to see the chief of colorectal surgery at U of M, just for piece of mind. The surgeon at U of M told me my fistula and abscess were very complicated and Dr. Turfah did a remarkable job.
Dr. Turfah addresses each patient personally, extensively informing of conditions and procedures. Dr. Turfah elevates the gold standard of patient care. My grandparents would not have lived amongst us as long as they did if it wasn't for the care of Dr. Turfah. Dr. Turfah is recognized nationally, internationally for his outstanding skills, knowledge. When other doctors predict one month life expectancy, Dr. Turfah's care extended the days left amongst us to year. Over 15 years to be more precise. Dr. Turfah's hands are a blessing, potentially 9th wonders of the world. Honesty, integrity, accuracy are only the beginning of this doctor's many astonishing traits. Dr. Turfah has change, extended many lives. Thank you for all the help and knowledge you share. Educating patients is essential, in which you are very well at doing. Your education, skills and experience are impressive even to other medical professionals. Keep saving lives, we the family of loved ones truly appreciate the dedication you've implemented through your life of practice.
Dr. Turfah let my husband slip off the OR table twice while he was dissecting his colon. And then played it off like it was no big deal! He, then lied about my behavior in the surgical waiting room on Thursday, October 8 2020. I didn't get hysterical until I read the surgical report, three days later. And realized what had actually happened. Dr. Turbah was not forth coming with any information about my husband and I feel avoided me. Dealing only with my 68 year old husband. Who is hard of hearing. Was just out of major surgery, in alot of pain and on some heavy medication. I spent 3 days trying to get in touch with the Dr. with questions and concerns, to no avail. Dr. Turbah did not respect my position as wife and caretaker of my husband. I got the distinct impression that I was JUST a woman. We are now a week out of surgery and I am very concerned about my husband's post operative care. I can't condone ever returning to this man.
Fantastic Dr.! Great bedside manner. Always has time to answer all of his patients questions and so that they understand what he has explained to them. And it wouldn’t be fair not mention the wonderful staff that he has backing him up. Mary, at the front desk carries many responsibilities, but again I have never met a more knowledgeable, friendlier, courteous and truly concerned person, about every patient under Dr. Turfah’s care.
