My gosh, this was a super fun place to visit. I can’t wait for the chance to return. From the moment we arrived, Lyra cheerfully greeted both me and my husky almost as a friend. She was so helpful getting me to the right RV site and addressing any questions I had. I’ve been to 8 different Thousand Trails RV Parks in California but I found Turtle Beach to have the most accepting and friendly staff. These people really know how to make guests feel special. The park has a few full hook up sites available, with more partial hook up sites available as well. There is a dump site located in the north east corner of the park. There are a large number of dry camping sites available as well. Most of them seem to have water. A tastefully decorated lodge, with a lounging area and pool table is located in the welcome center I was impressed by the upkeep of the grounds as well as the visibility day and night of the three employees who work here. Super dog friendly but the little guys must be leashed.
This location is part of the Thousand Trails Lower west region package. Located on the rivers edge you have nice large rv spots, many with shade and full hook ups, others with closer access to the water views. We have met the amazing staff and they are always friendly and ready to help. Facilities are decent and the overall atmosphere is peaceful.
This was one of the most frustrating stays in our two years as Thousand Trails Camping Pass holders. Check-in was very disappointing and a total lack of customer care/service. Upon arrival, nobody was at the office couldn’t access anyway due to rebuild of entrance access to the office. Upon contacting someone via call box, we were told they would open the gate to enter and then park inside the gate until we could be led to a site. Person could see us from their trailer. This person told me they were “on lunch break” and would come help us in 20 minutes. This is EXTREMELY poor customer service! The outside temperature was 100+ degrees, and we’ve been told to wait in our truck until the employee’s lunch break was finished? We then watched the employee come out of her trailer, move her watering hose around in the yard, then go back into the trailer. After approximately 20 minutes they did lead us to our spot. When I asked if there was a specific check-in time I was unaware of, I was told no, that they were just under staffed. For her to lead us to our site took all of 15 minutes. She could have led us to our site and went back to finish lunch. This customer service is totally unacceptable. RV park, overall is small and has virtually no amenities. Very small restrooms/showers, no pool, virtually only a place to park your rig. Also had no sewer, only water and electricity. Highly recommend to find another RV park before this one.
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely area to walk the dog. No cement pad but it was dry, so ok for us.Service: 5/5
It's smaller than I thought but the little beach area is nice and the water is clean. Only one bathroom area. It's 2 small trailers and each one has 2 showers and bathrooms, Clean. There are a few scattered porta pots so if you can stay in an RV it would be best. I tent camped in a nice shady corner spot with grass. They do not have a market so stop before you camp.
Had a great time at Turtle Beach RV Resort. Stayed for five days. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Site are large and level. Was really nice to have green grass and not dirt. Downside, not enough water due to California drought conditions. Also if there were more available full hook-ups for members of Thousand Trails and not so many sites taken by Annual users. Only had one night when one group decided to make noise until 2:00 in the morning. Overall experience was positive, will most likely go back again.
We use turtle beach often enjoy the quiet clean facilities. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Pam is wonderful she always help locate our site and makes sure we have everything we need and leaves us with "if you need anything else just call me"Service: 4/5
Pam and Lyra were great hosts. They were able to find a way to allow us to stay in the same site for the whole two weeks we were visiting my dad in Modesto. Thanks fir everything.
Been a Lifetime Elite Member of Thousand Trails now since November 2021. Have stayed at this campground resort many times over the past 7 months. Is a very quiet and relaxing environment during the winter months with mainly only members using the sites. Has gotten a lil busier as the warmer months approched. Still a very relaxing environment. The onsite staff/management is awesome, the very best I've ever had at any campground resort. They treat you like family and truly care about Turtle Beach Campground and RV Resort and it shows. The rules and guidelines for this location are enforced and there is no special treatment; everyone that enters must abide by the expectations or remove themselves from the location. This is not one of those places that have rules in writing just for show. The rules are for everyone and they must be followed and they are reasonable and justified. As a paying member i appreciate that. Management at this location has always been very welcoming and helpful. They have always answered any questions we've had and taken care of any concerns that came up during our stays. The one thing that i can honestly say needs improvement is the shower/bathroom facilities. There is only 2 shower buildings with a total of 4 showers for the entire location. 1 of the showers has been out of order 90% of the past 7 months at least. Often times more than one of the rooms will be locked/out of order. There are an abundant amount of portable potties spread out throughout the campground that are checked and serviced regularly however are greatly inhabited by creepy crawlies of the 6 and 8 legged type. If you're like me and have an incredibly difficult time being able to relax enough to relieve yourself in a very small space with nature's unpredictable creatures then these potties are not really an option most of the time. This leaves me with the sometimes depending on whitch site I'm staying in a bit of a trek to use the bathroom and then hoping one is available once i reach the destination. That's my only negative, but its kind of a big one, at least for me. Full service facilities was a huge selling point for me when purchasing the membership. Otherwise this place is awesome and worth every membership monthly/yearly penny. I have also been to other thousand trails resorts and have had not one bad visit to one yet.
Great place to stay before returning our RV in San Francisco. Only one hour drive to the bay area. Clean and neat. Lyra was very friendly although wie arrived without Booking in advance.
