Sadly, this restaurant is closing at the end of the month. In my opinion this place was the benchmark for all other Italian restaurants in this area. Superb food and peerless service. Our server was Amy and she was one of the best servers I ever had in any restaurant. I'm going to miss this place. I know there are other Stefani restaurants, but this one was on a level line no other. I hope they reopen somewhere soon.
Couple reviews faulted the restaurant for portion size and it "not being what it used to." Overall I was very happy with our meal. My portion was very good for $17. The bread with olive oil and roasted garlic that was brought to the table was excellent. 2 entrees, a martini, and a craft beer was $54 which is very reasonable if you ask me. I would highly recommend Tuscany to a friend.
No pictures from this one. We had a company party here. They have a party room off to the side of the restaurant with about 10 tables of six. It was a bit cramped with little room between the tables so not much space to socialize. The room has its own entrance so I didn't see the rest of the location but expect it was larger in the main area. We had a limited menu which still had a wide variety. The food was excellent. They served a variety of appetizers, a choice of four entrees, salad or soup, and a variety of desserts. The appetizers were good. The soup was about average for what I expect from Minestrone. However, the Salmon on Grilled Vegetables was really outstanding. I'm afraid after all of that and a couple of drinks, I only had room for a cup of coffee but no dessert. Others seemed to enjoy it. My review is tempered by the level of service. Perhaps it was the party room was cramped or off from where the servers generally work, but service was extremely slow. In particular, between ordering and receiving drinks, it took up to 15-minutes to receive them. Since we were all talking and eating, it is difficult to judge the level of service of the food delivery. No one I saw asked for anything in particular when things were served, so it is possible the problem was with the bar and not the servers. There are several Tuscany restaurants in the area. This one is a little further from me than others but I do plan to try one of them as a regular patron as opposed to a party guest. When I go back, I'll be able to better let you know about the service for regular restaurant patrons. But, again, the food did make the experience very good.
This is one of my all-time favorite places. Their service is excellent. They make you feel like royalty. The food is always amazing from the baked garlic, Parmesan, olive oil bread dip to the sweetest of deserts. I never pass up a chance to visit when I am anywhere nearby. The live jazz is just the perfect icing on the cake to complete the amazing experience.
This has been one of the best dining experiences I've had in the greater Chicago area. I chose to sit in the bar area which is quiet and cozy but still a little lively. Angela, my server, was the perfect hostess. She is cheerful and friendly and took time to answer my questions. The food was beyond excellent. There were a lot of good vegetarian options. The minestrone is great! And dessert was spectacular. If I could give them six stars, I would.
Food quality was great, service was great. A bit expensive for Italian though. This is a franchise, chain restaurant. I've had better for less at mom and pop Italian restaurants. Decor also doesn't warrant the prices. It's just a name brand that you're paying for in the end.
Very nice, upscale restaurant. The atmosphere was warmly sophisicated if one can use the two words in the same description. The wine selection was plentiful without being intimidating and the food was hot and delicious.
I ordered the whitefish which was a special and the flavor was bland. My son loves his veal ravioli dish. I think it's just overpriced for what you get. They had a live band which was strange. I'd rather go to a newer establishment in Oak Brook next time with a better menu and ingredients. Perhaps a more innovative chef.
July 2014 Update: I contacted the restaurant about our experience noted below. The manager reached out, apologized and asked my group to come back for another dinner on the house. We did. The food was great same as it was the first time and the service this time was excellent - from start to finish. They have made it back into our good graces by being responsive customer focused. June 2014 Initial Review: The Monday special at Tuscany Oak Brook is half price wine, by the glass or bottle, no reserve. We questioned the waitress when we were charged full price for our wine. She told us that wine was only half price in the bar and on the patio. On asking to see the manager, she told us the same thing. When we told her that we hadn't seen anything saying that the special didn't apply in the restaurant, she smugly assured us that it was there, but the type was probably too small for us to read. OUCH! How about that for customer service! We received no accommodation from the manager and ended up paying the bill in full. On our way out, we checked the special list posted in the Ladies Room. Nothing there to say the specials only applied in the bar and patio. We will not be going back. There are too many excellent restaurants around Oak Brook mall to go through that again.
The food at Tuscany was ok -- better than an Olive Garden but also not approaching your grandma's pasta. Service was also alright if not noteworthy. My gripe is that I spent over $100 for three diners and a child for strictly mediocre food. The most memorable note of my experience: their point-of-sale lies about tip percentage on split checks by displaying a percentage for the full check's combined value. A little scuzzy, but not really scuzzy. Mediocre level scuzzy. Wouldn't go back.
