My son broke his arm snowboarding. We normally go to North Memorial Urgent Care so gave Twin Cities Orthopedic Urgent Care a try. They are in the same building. They got us in right away. And we were x-rayed, splinted and out within an hour. The nurse, Jessie Maroltz explained everything concisely and gave written instructions. She had great bedside manners and was professional an personable. Will see a doctor next week for the hard cast. Will update then.
The first time I went here, my experience was fantastic. In and out and the Dr. was very professional. Today my experience was an entirely different story and I am shocked at what just happened. First of all, there is nothing that says that the location in an Urgent Care only. When you google Twin Cities Orthopedics Minnetonka, it comes up with the address, but says nothing that it is an urgent care. Only that it is located NEXT TO the North Memorial Urgency Center. So I walked in today and the lady at the front desk instantly started questioning me about why I was there, which I began to tell her before she rudely interrupted telling me that I couldn't be seen for a follow up there. While I was standing there, another lady came walking out of a patient room and stood right there at the desk in close proximity to me who was speaking with the very rude receptionist who stated that she was the supervisor when I asked. You would think that this clinic and ESPECIALLY the supervisor would know the concept of HIPPA!! I didn't really feel like giving all of my information out so that this other woman could here. Especially since I was there because of a domestic abuse incident. Do you know how hard it is to even go and get help because you are afraid of what will happen after or afraid of being judged? It takes a lot to even seek help. So now they violated HIPPA by not asking the other people to please give privacy as a matter of fact, the other woman then started arguing stating "can't you see that I'm standing here on a broken leg? She was offered a wheelchair twice and there were chairs in the waiting room that she could have sat on, yet none of that was pointed out to her. They violated HIPPA and refused care. The "supervisor" is incredibly rude and unprofessional. And when I questioned her if she was aware of HIPPA and the amount of distance that should be respected and the right to not have anyone else hear your information, she ROLLED HER EYES AND MUMBLED SOMETHING to the other ladies who she decided to help instead of me. As an RN, I am absolutely appalled in the manner that I was treated here today. This is not ok. If you want to be treated with respect and the right to have your information be kept secret, I would highly suggest not going here.
Quick, prompt and efficient service. The visit itself was less than 15 minutes and I was out the door with everything I needed. Highly recommend.
