Pretty good library overall but would be better if they ran continuous screenings of the emoji movie 24/7, other than that pretty good.
Pretty good studying spots but overall spots could be cleaner, quieter, with newer equipments etc. Really really hard to find the right books here.
Large and well structured library environment
The library is my home away from home. It's by far my favorite study environment on campus, and it really really helps for when you want to focus. If you can't seem to get your act together, try using the library computers since it will prove to be significantly less of a distraction than your own devices. Also, it's a great place to just chill out between classes, since it's in the middle of campus.
During the final week, the library has been sending people to patrol and hunt students for not wearing a mask like a dog. They have been putting out extremely serious announcements every 30 mins, making the environment hostile and unwelcoming. 1 star for UCSB's heavy bureaucracy. The extra star is for the awesome students.
It's a really ugly library when you compare it to any of the others in the UC system really. Also you can tell that they made it back in the day and they have not updated it in any meaningful way aside for making everything searchable electronically. I guess it's just a humongous disappointment when you compare it to the one at UCLA.
Facility was clean and presentation was flawless. I was greeted at the entrance then directed to my dedicated study room, where I was greeted by former Olympian, Usain Bolt.
A university..... students pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to STILL ATTEND during COVID, and you can't supply a place to study?? Truthfully, this is a disgrace. You'll gladly put students in debt, have them bend to your system of education in hopes of having a career, the least you could do is OPEN UP THE LIBRARY SO STUDENTS CAN STUDY. SERIOUSLY people come on. What kind of institution is this? Send us our money back if we can't use the resources the money is supposed to go to. Just one of many examples of why students should not go here or any california public university for that matter.
UCSB is a beautiful campus
Great place to do research. I'm exploring the latest research on creative healing techniques…
