Ulta Beauty is a go-to for me, and it's easy to see why. The staff's friendliness and willingness to assist are truly commendable. Don't hesitate to ask questions because their knowledge can be a pleasant surprise, even if you think you know it all. What's great is that Ulta consistently has what I need and more. They even helped me find affordable yet high-quality makeup for my toddler, making it a safer choice for her. It's a store that goes above and beyond in customer service and product variety.
This store rocks!! The staff is friendly and super supportive. I want to personally thank Ryan who helped me at a difficult time. My face was inflamed and red for several weeks, never figured out why but probably allergies. In desperation I went to Ulta seeking a proper moisturizer and concealer. I was not feeling well and was embarrassed about my condition. Ryan was very kind and spent A LOT of time helping me find the right products—which were great. I usually randomly try things because I’m somewhat self conscious about asking for help. No more!! Thanks Ryan for your empathy and all the staff there for maintaining a fun and respectful experience!!
I live for makeup and beauty products and just moved to the area so visited this ulta for the first time. Pretty much everyone kind of sucked but the one person who helped me which is why I’m giving 5 stars was the best. I’m kicking myself for not getting his name, but I am making it my mission to go back and get it so I can update this review he had fabulous nails and amazing style. Anyways, he was SO helpful. I’ve been to 10 million ultas in my day and no one has ever taken as much time as he did to help me find a foundation that truly matched my skin. He was helpful, kind, fun, & honestly the only reason this store is getting 5 stars. I will update with his name once I go back and get it because he deserves all the credit and a raise.
Terrible experience in the salon. The beautician was nice, however when you pay $200+ dollars to have your hair colored blonde, shouldn’t it look.. well blonde and light? Also, was in the salon for about 4 hours! I left and my hair was darker and after a few washes was no different than what it was before I had it done. Very disappointed and very unsatisfied. And then when speaking to the manager a few days later, she was very rude to me and acted like it was my fault. Worst experience with Ulta that I have ever had. Definitely do not recommend. I've never seen such wonderful salon. The staff is friendly and the fragrances and display was very organized.
I've never been too into makeup or beauty products, so I figured I'd never go to this store. But after googling and researching face products to help me with redness and such, I found that they carry the products I wanted to check out. I was initially fairly intimidated walking in the door. The store is huge. But the ladies here helped me find exactly what I was looking for and were helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I got a free sample with my purchases and have since been back to buy some other products. A lot of items are fairly expensive, but otherwise, nice store with great customer service and selections.
I’ve honestly had nothing but horrible experiences when trying to make purchases at this location. I’ve experienced a deal where I could buy online and pick up in store, just for the item to be sold out when it came time to pick up. I’ve attempted to redeem my gift for a free wax service here to be told their ONE person who does waxing is away at college - why they only staff one person for this who isn’t even around is beyond me. I’ve come in for prestige brands- my large purchases- for them to not carry Estée Lauder foundation or MAC, which in my opinion are huge brands to just not carry. Today the employee told me “Newport News has those brands. They carry brands we don’t. But we also carry some brands that they don’t.” I have never needed a brand and not been able to find it at the Newport News location. Honestly not sure why Ulta placed a store in this area for it to carry next to nothing brand-wise. Moving forward I won’t even bother with this location.
Got my brows waxed as a walk in as soon as they opened, the girl was nice enough but my brows are totally uneven. I had to go back and ask her to fix them and she was making excuses about rushing since I’m a walk and that my brows lean. She tried to fix them but they still look crazy, I paid and left. Lesson learned, never get your brows done at Ulta.
Definitely did the hunt for what we was looking for to find out it was in the back corner. That wasn't the issue. Nobody to help us. All but the cashier was playing on their phones. Then to play 50 questions to check out. There is NO reason to need my phone # and name and address. That's worse then Radio Shack was.
The brow tech was super helpful, even before I made an appt with her. The phone system to speak with a store rep is awful. The store needs to have more sponges for customers to try on make-up. For the prices charged, the customer service need to step up. There was a young lady with rainbow colored hair who nearly ran me over coming into the store. After, I got seated for my brow appt she chatted with the brow tech and I realized she worked there and had been rushing to clock in. Later, when I tried on some make up products and needed her assistance she proved unhelpful.
