Me & my wife went there for a college tour since I'll be transferring here soon within the next year. The person that gave the tour did a wonderful job and was very knowledgeable with answering all my questions. The campus is very beautiful I had great fun just exploring with on the tour, they no have me sold on transferring to here with all the available things for the students! Can't wait.
Every time I have walked in and asked for advice it has been nothing but a wonderful experience. I will continue to go back for more helpfully advice when I need it.
Very nice lecture space.
Sorry, I don't care how beautiful the campus is like many of the others here. I find that this school lacks in so many ways that I have officially reached the point where I will refer to A-B Tech as my alma mater. My chief grievances are in how this school treats its non-residential students. They never enforce parking, allowing residential students to park in our lot at all times, every day. I have been late to class because of this, wasted my time and gas because of this, and my car has been nicked in the overfilled parking lot, yes, I believe, because of this. I pay $220 every year for parking that I am not guaranteed and that is insane. Parking was free at A-B Tech and they still enforced the hell out of parking, so what's UNCA's problem? There are no cameras in the parking lots either, which would have been great to have when my car was hit and the person left without leaving a note. Bottom line, if you are a nonresidential student, a parent, and/or a non-traditional student, you are second class at this school. I have loved my professors, and do find that the education has been excellent overall, but I think that should be expected. If it's not expected, I don't count on UNCA to handle it, whatever the 'it' might be.
Enjoyed the scenic drive to UNC-Ashville. The day started cold with wind but it warmed up.
Very Pleasant, got my granddaughter all moved in for her last semester. Everyone was so helpful and nice. Everyone followed guidelines , wore mask and kept distance. All went well. Thank you UNC
Really nice college, might plan to go there with my sister when i graduate!
I could say a lot about unca, but I'l stick to this. Title IXs, dropots, and mental health are rampant, and the school is not addressing them.
My honest review, having been in multiple programs at UNCA: 1. Programs - a Music tech - very hands-on, but the UNCA music program overall students and faculty is pretentious and anti-social. b. Math/Statistics - great. The department genuinely cares about their students' success. The expertise in some profs lacks outside of their course material. Great research options! c. Computer Science - lacks. Professors often uncommunicative and slow to grade, seems like they're not focused on their job as profs. There are one or two profs who genuinely care. 2. Student body - diverse and will make you tolerant of all kinds of people. There are many students immature and unwilling to have civil talk. Clubs/student orgs have little engagement. 3. Administration - corrupt. Claims to be accommodating, but never wants to do the paperwork. Says what brings in the most income with ill regard to effects on students. 4. Beautiful campus! Like none other. 5. Campus food - lacks options, but ok.
UNCA Lipinsky Building was the venue for the Blue Ridge Orchestra's Revels concert with the Kreuger Bros band. The BRO opened with a mix of classical and Christmas pieces. They played several Kreuger composition. Fantastic band and the BRO was scintillating. Great couple of hours.
