Our party of four decided to take a little hike before having lunch. Upon our arrival, we were able to find parking and entered the garden with no waiting. This is a nice, little, natural spot tucked away in the "forest". The trails are easy to hike.
This was a pretty nifty place we visited. The parking lot is relatively small for the amount of people that can hang at the park, but we were able to snag a space on a Saturday afternoon. They have a small gift shop with reasonably-priced items. There are a couple of walking trails, and there’s a creek access point. We went in and around the creek, which was a little slippery, but nothing we couldn’t handle in flip-flops. There were some informational signs, but not like a typical botanical garden where every species is named and labelled. Some of the flora and fauna were simply amazing to see. I saw a bee hawkmoth first photo and got an awesome picture of it. We had brought an outdoor blanket and laid it out on the creek and on the grass. It was a lovely area, and I would definitely come here again to relax.
Great gardens to street stroll around and enjoy some nature. Saw cardinals, hummingbird moths, and stream trout. Lot of beautiful flowers and well kept grounds. Please remember that nature is meant to be natural. Listen to the sounds. Plenty of time to talk later. And Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
This is a small nice garden with a creek next to it and a lot of shades. My family and I were visiting for a first time as tourists. We were taking a stroll in this garden peacefully and breathed in the fresh clean air as much as we can that's because we come from the city that doesn't have lots of greens and clean air, so we really value what we have here at the moment. We did not forget to check out the small gift shop which has pretty cool stuff and clean restroom as well as water fountain. The staff was friendly and nice. We all had a pleasant time together in the late afternoon
It’s a beautiful garden with the creek at its side. Major usp of the place is the creek. Kids can run in the beautiful creek along with the rocky trail. It was a fun and beautiful site. Though rocks inside the creek has algae which has made them slippery. Make sure to be careful inside the creek. Garden inside is peaceful. Many small picnic spots are there. It’s a great place to be on a weekend afternoon.
Went today with the family to hike through the trails. Enjoyed beautiful flowers and the kids loved traipsing through the creek. There were some areas you can picnic and open areas for kids to run around. There were some nice flowers and other plants to see naturally as you walked through; however, there wasn't as much as we were expecting. If you have kids the creek running through is likely the highlight and there are plenty places along the way to follow through or wade through with water shoes or barefoot.
Lovely spot with nice trails and a beautiful creek perfect for dipping your feet in on a warm day. Some nice historical features as well and a quality gift shop/info center.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
I set my expectations pretty high when coming here to visit. I really enjoyed everything that was there but at the end of the walk I felt myself letdown and wishing there were more to see. Coming from the amazing botanical gardens in Florida… I just thought there would be more.
Beautiful loop around these gardens is a perfect way to spend a morning in Asheville. Gorgeous, native, delicate flowers and bold trees along the river and beyond. Lots to learn and absorb!
Lovely little gardens. We went a few weeks ago before many flowers were blooming. It was quite cool and a bit windy so there weren’t many people out with us. We loved the quiet of getting to walk in nature and all the historic and botanical placards were a nice touch. We look forward to coming back when there are more flowers and the weather is warmer!
