Union Station, also called the Meridian Multi-Modal Transportation Center, is an intermodal transportation center in Meridian, Mississippi. The station is located at 1901 Front Street in the Union Station Historic District within the larger Meridian Downtown Historic District, both of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Consisting of a new addition and renovated surviving wing of the 1906 building, Union Station was officially dedicated on December 11, 1997. It is a center of several modes of passenger transportation, including Amtrak train service on the Norfolk Southern rail corridor, Meridian Transit System, Greyhound, Trailways, and other providers of bus services.Meeting rooms on the mezzanine level are designed for community activities, the existing east wing houses Meridian's economic development agency. Located beside the station, a former Railway Express Agency building has been renovated and adapted as the Meridian Railroad Museum, inviting patrons to learn more about Meridian's railroading history.HistoryOriginal depotThe railroading history of Meridian began in the 1850s with the Mobile & Ohio and the Alabama and Vicksburg lines forming a junction at the small community. Meridian would grow to become the largest city in Mississippi at the turn of the 20th century, with five major rail lines; it had 44 trains coming in and out of Meridian daily.

Great Place To Have A Party Too

Worst travel experience I've ever had. I understand delays will happen but to sit idle multiple for what is adding up to be hours because freight trains have priority is unexseptable.  Learn how to schedule amtrak.

Easy to get t and a nice place to visit

Customer service throws southern hospitality out the window here in this station. The reps act as if they have better things to do than service you and the attitudes are horrible. This is coming from multiple visits to this exact location for business and personal trips. I usually order online to cut down on interaction time I couldn't stand to deal with rude and unprofessional people.

My 18 year old was traveling for the first time by himself and his bus was supposed to leave the terminal at 12:30 am. The security guard put my son out of the terminal on the platform at 12:00 and told him his bus was running 3 1/2 hours late. He was on the platform by himself for the entire time.

Came for Railfest 2021. Great facility, hosted John Robert Smith, former Mayor of Meridian, for the keynote address. He gave a great overview of Meridians reborn downtown and reiterated the importance of each of us catching the long range vision and conveying the story of our town to our family...generationally.

My experience is with both bus terminal and with the restaurant inside the station I've had no problems with either, but I personally know of other plp whom I have no reason to say otherwise have had a bad experience more than once unfortunately this is my home and I don't claim it.  # it is what it is some plp have forgotten why they have a joband who they serve which is the Public.

I recommended Amtrak to my son who is traveling from Washington D.C. with three children.  I wanted them to experience a train ride, but did I make a mistake.  The service here at the station in Meridian, MS is horrible.  First of all, the train was late and I understand that; airlines are late to.  However, when we went to the station to check on them, getting information from the clerk was like pulling teeth.  After telling us that the train would be more than an hour late, I returned home and tried to periodically check on where they were.  During the entire time that we were waiting for the train, not one person answered the telephone and I called every 10 - 15 minutes.  You people need to correct this, the attitude of the people at the train station really could stand some revamping.  When paying for services, some consumers do expect to at least get the courtesy of someone picking up the telephone and saying that the train has not made it yet.  This will truly be my last recommendation for anyone to ride the train to anywhere.

The ride from Birmingham to NOL was HOT no air conditioning you all have to do better for people that are paying there money to ride comfortably will not do this again 1st and last

Surprisingly nice and clean facility. I have used them several times recently to access Amtrak and everyone there has been very courteous and helpful.
