Had my first visit today because I was in the area. Walked through the door and immediately noticed a glass case. Then continue to see an American girl doll placed there, with a $60 price tag attached I had a feeling that was setting the bar for pricing though out the whole store, which ended up being correct. I will say that the store was quite clean! Great lighting from the plethora of large windows. A wide selection of everything. I just couldn’t get past the pricing. A pair of scuffed up nikes $150. Various works of art/pictures/wall art priced upwards of $40. Various pieces of random jewelry $40+ dollars. I have been to many different thrift stores in which I thought they were a bit overpriced, but this one takes the cake. I’m sure great deals can me occasionally found; But be ready to really look for them, or to pay up.
I love going to unique as you never know what you're going to find as with most thrift shops. I will say that one thing I don't like about this place is that there are no fitting rooms for trying on items, which is critical to me when buying clothing. I think the store would be well served by building a couple of small fitting rooms as it might reduce some hesitation that people have when looking to buy clothing.
Treasures around every corner, but the pricing leaves much to be desired. The last couple times I've been there, I have left with nothing or a random children's book my toddler found. Larger than necessary prices for used clothing. You need it, it is probably there, just have to pay more than you would like for a used item. Everything is well organized. They installed self checkouts.
Thrift stores are supposed to be an affordable and sustainable option. I was there this weekend and it was sad to see that they are pricing used items higher than what they would cost new. $17.99 for a used plain black t shirt. The same brand and style shirt is available at a nearby store for $2.99 and the cheaper one is not even used. That’s disappointing ; I would rather thrift because it’s better for the environment but unfortunately I may have to resort to buying items new because of these outrageous prices. I left the store without buying anything and I probably won’t be back for a while.
This is my favorite thrift shop... I can always count on finding at least 3 good pieces every trip, usually all between 3 and 7 dollars. There aren't fitting rooms, so I'd suggest wearing something tighter so you can put things on over your clothes.
This is the only place I shop now for outer clothing. I find new clothes that still have the store tags on them or pockets stiched closed. Fabrics like pima cotton for less than $10.00. It's a crazy good place to shop! Whatever housewares I need, I can always find them, too.
Been a loyal customer of Unique Thrift since 2004. Excellent, knowledgeable staff and such great finds!!! Nice bright, clean and organized shop and they will bulk items together which I appreciate. Found all these nostalgic toys from 1984-1988 for only $20.46!!! Ironically I’ve found the accompanying dolls for each play set randomly thru the months. Stop here and find your treasures!
I saw so many items overpriced. Some even had price tags from the original store that were much lower than Unique's price. The clothing would sell better if the prices were less.
About the same as goodwill appearance- wise... if you need to find something specific, you will probably have better luck finding it here, but be prepared for higher prices eg $40 for Columbia brand winter coat in used condition.
It's a fun thrift store to visit. Some of the prices are priced above new pricing and it wasn't the best for quality compared to some other thrift stores I've visited but, I still managed to find some gems in there with good prices!
