At first the mailman refused to deliver my mail because my dog barked at him behind my locked front door. We accommodated him per postmaster’s terms and moved our mailbox down the bottom of the steps. Now they refuse to deliver packages because I have a dog that barks at the door. Also, Joe mailman on east side connector, video recorded into my home my dog, the dog he is afraid of. I’m now scared of the mail carrier due to him recording in my windows and afraid where the inside of my house has been shared. The post master does not care and she admitted to telling him to record my dog who was inside my house! She also told me this postman had been bit by a dog and is afraid of them now. I am sorry he was bit but I’m a responsible dog owner and my dog is never outside without me or during mail time. They have caused undue stress and I have done what the postmaster requested. I’m still not getting my packages and when my husband went to pick them up they weren’t there nor were they delivered.
Fairmont office is centrally located, sufficient parking for short-term 20 minute. Usually not too crowded, early mornings are better if possible, but you never know. The clerks are friendly and it's a very easy place to get to.
Terrible excuse for a post office. They refuse to deliver my mail to my address, make me pay for a P.O. Box, and then complain when I have large packages shipped there.
My packages keep getting left by the road. I submitted a request and it was "resolved" with no resolution. I submitted a 2nd request asking them to at least call me if the carrier was too impaired to walk down my ten or so steps, I'd be happy to help/meet them if im home. I was told my clean and clear cement steps are too dangerous even though FedEx, any fill-in postal carrier, Lowes, UPS, door dash, pizza delivery personnel have 0 problems. If my step are so bad then why are both of neighbors experiencing the same problem? I have had very expensive packages left in rain and snow. This didn't start until I got a new carrier a few months ago.
I ordered a Christmas gift for my niece that was handed off by UPS to this USPS location for delivery within an hour of receiving said package this location had it listed in their system as "lost/stolen" and informed me that it was out of their hands and that I needed to contact Amazon to have the item replaced or to get a refund. It is now January 5th and amazon claims the item will not be there until the 6th or the 7th.
Never get my mail on time. Post lady says because our house is inaccessible because of a dog on a chain in the yard, witch is nowhere near door or mailbox. But seen her interact with neighbor and his dogs. She will also sit for an hour and a half talking instead of working. She delivers our mail to the neighbors because she can’t keep track of the mail if she is talking for that long. I’ve had a water shut off notice show up a week after the shut off date all crinkled up like it fell under the mail truck seat. Something needs done with these people! Their pay should depend on their performance. And this one needs fired.
Notoriously bad at getting mail delivered correctly and promptly. Multiple bad experiences. It once took a letter 10 days to get to my mother who lives 45 minutes away. They told me a package had been delivered but it never was. They said it was lost forever. A few days later it was found and they gave it to me. I moved and put in a change of address, but they continue to deliver mail to my old address instead of forwarding it. Most recently a package delivered to my old address was not only not forwarded but given to someone else. When I asked them about it they told me they had delivered it to me, then that they had forwarded it to me, then that they lost it and finally that they gave it to someone else and that basically I had no chance of ever getting the package back. I had to call there every day for weeks for them to do something about it and despite numerous promises to call me with updates, I only ever received one call. I finally had to drive 7 hrs to Fairmont from my new address and go to the house they gave my package to and ask them for the package myself. The people immediately turned it over to me. Why does it take me driving 7 hrs to get my mail? Why do I have to do their job? Why can’t they do their jobs? I guess we will never know. Very disappointing.
One USPS Female employee from this office tried to deliver my neighbor's package to me. I told her where the neighbor livedright next door and she did not go back 100feet to deliver the package.
I've had minor issues here on Saturdays and have seen the good patience from the employee. I appreciate the work the USPS does and my local mail handler is always polite. I've upgraded my mailbox to the largest I can find on Amazon to help out the driver from traveling up my driveway from packages.
Worst post office ever. Never received my mail because my neighbor got it instead. When I moved I forward my address and I have yet to receive my mail 5 months later. My license plate, registration, W2 have all come up missing but I’m sure they arrived in there usual spot and are on some else’s car.
