I have had a mix of positive and negative views for this service for a while now. I've done my best to be patient and kind. But recently I've been trying my best to see any updates on a recent package. Nothing. It's been 3 months of waiting. And 9 days since it arrived in the sorting center. I know there is still a pandemic but I've waited so long and patiently. I just wanted to see something being done.
Finally helped with my 70lb shipment but obviously didn't want to do it. Harassed a women with a service dog because he believes service dogs only wear vests! Very demeaning discussing customers at the counter.
Came to write a review after my experience here today and wow, look at the reviews already. All I will say is this. Another woman in front of me was there complaining about an issue when I was in line. The staff was very unhelpful, they told me a wrong price on a shipment to china around 80$ is what I was quoted. Good thing I had done my research online first because I had to pull out my phone and show him the true price on the USPS website which was 31$. I showed him the website after vigorously trying to convince him that he was way over quoting me. Then I asked another question and he said "well it's not like it's common sense or anything" in a sarcastic manner. That's all he said. I was always taught that the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. The question was referring to the address format I was using for China. If you think it's common sense, look up some Chinese addresses. The bottom line is that these negative reviews are adding up at this location for a reason. I have more to say but this review is already far to long. Maybe one day someone will take care of this. I'm also tired of receiving many packages addressed to someone else and having my packages getting lost. Update 8-22-2017: My package I sent was supposed to arrive in China within 7 days. It has now been over 2 weeks and the package is lost. When Tracked, it says that it never left this post office location. My theory is that the men who work here read my review and didn't ship it. An investigation has been started by USPS to try and find the package but I'm sure nothing will come of it. DO NOT use this location.
a lot of negative reviews on here but I have personally only had positive experiences here. there was a period of time when I was sending a lot of packages and the staff remembered me and let me know that I didn’t have to wait in line if my package was already ready to go with the label already on, I could drop it off and be on my way. the lines can get long so that was very nice of them to let me know that. as long as I live in the area, I will continue coming here to drop off packages!
I live in La Porte and usually use the post office in Deer Park because it is close to my job. However today I went to La Porte because it is closer to my house to return an item. I had some questions and was not really sure how to proceed forward with the return I usually deal with ups, wonderful people. The clerk basically told me that I needed to have the package ready before I got into line. I said I was not really sure how to do do this and he said before you get into my line and dismissed me. I was irritated because be offered no guidance or assistance so I told him thank you for all your help. As I walked off he mocked me to the only other customer in the place. I left because one the interaction was very rude and unwelcoming and two the man made fun of me while I was still in the building. I will save my return for a day when I can go in to a post office where the employees are nice, helpful, and not dismissive. Very disappointed that this type of service and treatment is allowed in my home town. As I look at the other reviews it seems that rudeness is a commonality in many of the other complaints.
Thee worst USPS in America by far!!!! Several times, I had to check them on when my package should arrive. When your website shows 'out for delivery' and then your package shows up the next day.....I'm sure you will be upset as well. This happened more then several times. I had to check the actually carrier that lied to me saying "it was in your mail box the whole time". Dude looked me in the eyes and said this. I was very close to man-handling him. The people that work there are horrible and most of them suck-at-life. They have a easy job and suck at it. There's a black lady that works in the back and I don't think she's getting her daily dose of "vitamin D". Some days she's ok and some days she comes off like your call doesn't matter to her. I'm sure they have some that are great workers but I have not met them yet.
They really dont care when they lose your package. "it says delivered at ***** " is all your get when they scan and loose or keep your things. I guess they figure its an amazon box, they will replace it. But i needed these things for a birthday and i ordered it a month ahead of time and still they screwed me out of this important day. Worst of all one of the items they no longer carry so i cant get a full replacement.
This post office is pathetic. The building and grounds are unkept appearing. The employees at this post office are rude acting and even during busy hours many times there is only one person working the counter area. When we put our mail on hold they many times do not get the delivery correct to restart it. On the delivery of our mail we get others mail in our box and frequently don’t get mail that is said to have been sent to us. I have gone into and spoke with people to address these issues numerous times in the past to no avail. I now drive to the Deer Park post office to mail my letters and packages. There service is top notch. Why can’t La Porte’s office function like theirs?
100% rude and unprofessional. The Google reviews are right. From the moment the woman answered the phone, straight RUDE. They will have u on hold for ever, when they finally decide to come back if they even come back Still rude, and lazy. The woman did not want to check, listen to what I was explaining and or do her job. I'm not saying all of their workers are like that. But with me being a very polite, calm and professional person, I did not derseve to be spoke to or treated that way. April 11th 2017 I called at 2pm. I hope she gets fired.
Friendliest people I have ever met in a Post Office. They were helpful and explained in detail what I needed to do. This was my very best experience in my life dealing with a post office.
