Two stars for not delivering a package and having to come pick it up but five stars for when I walked into the post office they saw I had an orange pick up slip and right away took me to the front of the line and helped me with my package. At first I believed all the other reviews but after going inside these guys were awesome. Super nice and helpful.
Office hours to pick up sucks when they don’t just put your items in a locker to get your packages and un able to pick up, their mail carrier doesn’t get out and actually leave packages addressed to that address at front door like most city mail services but they will unsafely leave it at curb only if the house has a curb mailbox when boxes don’t fit so its just left by post of the mailbox but inconvenienced with having to pick up when unable even if disabled or no transportation to get to regularly during hours. Wrong mail in wrong mail boxes is frequently done and an issue you have to hope other’s honesty as you have exists to receive if is important mail or documents needed when put in wrong mail box. Some workers try to help and be nice and of course a few aren’t and act like they doing you a favor even when they made the mistake and act it not their problem to solve when they caused it or didn’t do it correctly. Depending on time of day and day of week who you deal with. Calling rarely get answered or pick up to get help if can’t be in person most rude that have answered and conveniently disconnected if calling with a problem. Some heard many been complaining they haven’t been getting mail to residence in areas of town.
Why is an office this size unable to provide a minimum of 2 window clerks at all times so breaks do not affect how many are up front during peak season?! It’s 2 weeks before Christmas and I see one window clerk taking an incredibly long time with every customer, despite basic transactions. Why aren’t you pulling clerks from other smaller offices, like gold run/Alta/Dutch flat/Foresthill/meadow vista?!?! Why isn’t a supervisor up front at a window as well?!
I don't understand how they constantly send packages to the wrong address and lose important pieces of mail. Among many other problems. My check to the IRS never made it. If I ran my business this way I'd be out of work so fast. Very frustrating. Now on a 34 minute hold to find a package that was marked "put in mailbox" it was not!
I kid you not, this is the worst post office in the country… The employees and customer service are some of the worst I’ve seen anywhere.They run it like no other store, it’s dirty and always in disarray. They have random standards that vary from person to person, such as identical packages coming month month some of which are put into a locker, others behind the counter with a claim slip, and others put in the box. As if it comes down to the level of laziness in the person that’s supposedly doing the job. The letters are often opened, which in retrospect I figured out is because they’re always putting your mail into the wrong boxes. I could go on and on. While the entire US Postal Service has slipped immensely in the last decades, this one is the leader of bad management… Go to Colfax, or even Chicago Park, or anywhere for that matter. Trust me
If i could give less than a 1 rating, i would! Amazon expressed to me that the Grass valley area has a horrid reputation of accuracy in mail delivery, loss mail, poor PR, unwilling to accommodate and work ethics. I'm not understanding why a government institution can get away with such lame care and concern for the public's dependency on this institution. Personally, i have the most rudest and abrupt and angry and incompetent deliverer. SHE always tells me it wasn't her that delivered my mail in the wrong box, interesting being that it's always her i see daily, she claims she's retiring, if she would just do it and get it over with! I use the notifications when mail will be delivered, it's a total joke! The inaccuracy is almost 100%. I'm not seeing any future positive changes, but we're all at the mercy of their use, oh well.
Worst post office EVER. Sick of using Covid and short staffed as excuse. If private business were run like this would not make it 3 months before bankruptcy. Post Master or whom ever leader is should be fired. New employee tag line. “We may get payed a lot but we are worthless”
I'm sure they see me coming, but I always have unusual questions and Jack helps me with confidence and professionalism. My last trip included, among other things, a package being shipped to Canada. I have tons of stamps, so I asked if I could cover postage with them. He was happy to oblige and affixed stamps all over the little box top and sides. Everyone found this very comical, and I appreciated him taking the time.
How to pick up a package and I went online to get the address, and saw all the negative reviews. To be honest I was cringing at the thought of going in. I have to say my experience was great, the guy who helped me it was so nice and incredibly accommodating. I ended up having a few extra packages there so it took a little extra time and he was more than happy to help me.
I posted 2 external door blinds to a friend in Grass Valley from UK it cost $42 to post. You cannot buy these blinds in USA hence why l sent them. They duly arrived at this Post office my friend was informed they were there waiting to be picked up. When she went to get parcel. She was told it had already been picked up, it had accidentally been given to another person who had come to pick up a tube package. My package was not in a tube . So if procedure is done correctly this should never have happened. It stinks they say they dont know who took the parcel that is so untrue .
