I'm waiting on a very important package sent from my employer since I work remotely. It was sent over a week ago. I attempted to pick it up on Friday, Saturday, and again this morning. All three times I encountered a pink sign in the window that says the lobby is closed due to short staffing. Someone, please help me figure out how to not lose my job due to USPS short staffing.
On three different occasions I've gone there and the window has been closed for lunch, short staffing, or no good reason. It really messes me up when I am trying to send something out on my way to work and there is no other post office nearby. At that point I have to wait until the following day to mail my items. I used to go there all the time years ago and it could be a tight squeeze in such a small room if they were busy, but the woman who worked there all the time was very friendly at least.
Well well well… Terry is now officially retired the really efficient older lady who had worked at this location for what seemed like decades and due to staff shortage, they started pulling from the ghetto. Hence we now have several brand new employees who seem beyond disgruntled and have gotten used to the nifty habit of closing the clerk window approximately 5 minutes prior to their 1 hour long lunch break. Gone are the good ole days of friendly smiles and small talk, and the feeling like you actually have a semi relationship with the clerk, as now that’s been replaced with missing packages, dirty window, overflown trash bins and general disarray. Place yourself in front of the window when you’re the only person there and good luck seeing anyone to help. The little ring buzzer thing has been conveniently placed out of reach as so to entice you to play the game of “hellooo anywhere there” for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, you hear laughter and the employees joking around somewhere in the back. Lastly, can someone replace the message board by the entrance for something newer than that filthy thing that has been sitting there since 2005. I get that people have horse barns to rent but it’s an eye sore to say the least. Oh, and so is the clerk’s counter since new employees showed up. It’s as Covid never existed and they’ve never heard of bleach. Eeew that place
I've generally been a huge advocate for how hard the employees at our local Chester Springs post office work - but today I'm hugely frustrated. I ordered a very nice and pretty darned expensive dress from a department store and found the box just now next to the street, kind of by my mailbox, soaked by rain through the box, through the nicely tissue-wrapped packaging, and into the fabric of the dress. I'm hoping it isn't ruined, because I can't expect the store to return an item that they didn't damage. I've lived here nearly 20 years, order a lot via mail order, and have never had the post office not deliver a package to my covered porch. Has anyone else had this same problem lately? Pretty angry right now....
Inconvenient location for me and most of my neighbors as we live closer Rt. 100, and very short ride to the Upper Uchwlan location! Unfortunately having the prestigious Chester Springs zip code comes with it downsides. I have yet to have a positive experience when I have had to visit this location! Maybe the staff here can an get some training from the workers at the Exton location. Unfortunately the limited hours also impact any working persons ability to retrieve letters or packages that need to be picked up.
This post office zip of Chester Springs has probably grown more than any other PA location because all the new home builders wanted the Chester Springs mailing address going as far as to not use the proper Uwchlan post office that is still located right where all the new housing exists. So this little Chester Springs post is over run, with not enough room for the huge amount of new addresses its received, no new personnel to help, resulting in a tad bit slower delivery, but I've been recieving mail from it now over 30 years and they have performed wonderfully under all the changes. Still the most economical reliable service our Government provides :
The post office is often a chore, but the people working here really make it part of the community. They are nice, friendly and helpful. Thank you
This place is the absolute worst. The staff is rude and visibly annoyed if you ask a question. Last 2 things I shipped overnight sat around so long they never made it by the time guaranteed and I got a refund, but my package was delivered late and useless at that point. USPS can’t go under fast enough, terrible all around.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. Mailed three identical, weighed envelopes from this location and had one returned for insufficient postage. Never had this problem with my home post office.
I have a PO Box. There have been times I'm late and the window is closed. If I have a package they have brought it out to me if they see me--a kindness. They have always been polite and helpful.
