I'm not sure how, but this post office just gets worse. They clearly need more staffing. The line & wait time for packages is more often than not off the chart ridiculous. When I receive notice that a package has been delivered, I always wait until the next day. Today, my package that was delivered yesterday morning, STILL wasn't available. No key in my box. No yellow package pick up slip. And Christmas? It's an absolute nightmare! I want to know why, in 2022, we still don't have delivery to our homes. I'm just outside city limits, so not in the boondocks. The two times I've used my home address for packages? I got a slip in the mailbox telling me I had to pick it up at the post office. This post office is awful. That said, all of the employees must be absolutely exhausted. They're always kind and helpful. Thankfully, none of the public has gotten nasty with them during the really bad wait times, etc. Something has got to give.
I have had 4 greeting cards missing in my mail in the last month. I have the informed delivery set up from USPS to see what mail is getting delivered to us. I have pictures of all 4 cards that went missing from my email. I received all the other mail that was to come those days as well, but the greeting cards are missing. It seems really fishy that only the greeting cards would not be delivered. We have a locked mailbox so no one broke in our mailbox. I have filed a report on the situation.
Horrible Service and Wait Times. They'll have 6 Employees to the 5 people in Line to Ship Packages but yet only 1 Person in line for the 30 people picking up packages. There is no sense of urgency or even just decent time and service. Spent 30mins today standing in line to only have to leave after not even one person had received their packages in this time. The Postmaster at this Branch needs to be replaced and as well as a majority of the staff.
Contrary to USPS assertions that it "is the only organization in the country to deliver to every residential ... address," the Palmer, AK USPS does not deliver to residential addresses in our area. You have to go to the post office to pick up parcels and their parcel pickup service is consistently very slow -- expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour to pick up a package. The only other place I have seen such disregard for customers' time is in third-world countries.
This is probably the worst post office in the United States. It takes 30mins or more to do anything they only have one isle for pickups. They say they gave you a pink slip even though nothing was in your mail box then tell you sorry but we won't help you even though on the app the package says it's in the back has happend multiple times . How has this post office been able to stay the same for over 30yrs and not get any better is beyond me.
I have been trying to contact them about a few packages that were supposed to be forwarded to my new address. The number just rings until I get a loud beep and no voicemail. I do get my other mail forwarded with no problem. I emailed the company and they told me that my packages are still at the Palmer office and they gave me the same number I’ve been calling. With the hours I work I can not go pick anything up so my current only option is to keep calling the number. I replied to the email letting them know my issue with the number but they too have stopped responding. In addition to this at our new home in Wasilla we have been getting mail from a completely different street address and our mail must be delivered in the same way. I do get email from usps about what to expect in the mail for the day but a lot of times we don’t get it until up to a week later. My husband is retired army and he get his meds by mail and other medical information by mail and this worries me since they seem to have issues with deliveries.
The employees do the best they can. Clearly bad circumstances. How do you expect a disabled senior that parks in handicap space to stand in line an hour to pick up pkgs? I cant wait for xmas....
Not sure how wait times for picking up a package can be 1 hour 1.5 hours. 1.45 hours and up. This place needs more staff or better route drivers
I’m a business and a couple weeks ago when we got a new carrier for our route I started getting other business’ mail. The first day it was only one other business. Then them again. I wrote a note which the carrier ignored and stuck more of the other business’ mail in mine. We have a cluster outside the building for all the individual businesses. the third time I called and complained and they called back saying they talked to the carrier and hopefully that solves the problem. It didn’t. After that they dumped every single other business’ mail filling my slot completely. I’m talking like 30 envelopes of all other business’ mail important mail. I called again and complained along with the other’s. Now I’m getting pink slips for small packages that easily fit in my slot and when it doesn’t fit they can leave a key for the two big boxes at the bottom designed for big packages. This is ridiculous!
Your delivery driver to Hyer is completely incompetent. If you’re hiring I’ll happily take their job, and I would actually deliver the packages that are supposed to be delivered
