The customer service and care is a forgotten art that they excel at. Good to see that the American values that I remember still exist in Palmer Lake.
The staff were kind. Be aware that when you go to pay for the passport application they will warn you that normal processing takes up to 18 weeks, WAY LONGER than it states on the government website. They’ll offer you an option to pay an additional $60 to cut that down to 12 weeks, which is still longer than the government website advised.
Extremely easy to do business here, all the employees are very nice and efficient sometimes the computers don't work but that happens everywhere. Wait time is very minimal compared to Post offices in more urban locations. Jeannie is an absolute gem and made the transaction memorable. Thanks for everything!!
Used to be neighborly but every time a new person starts they are not friendly at all. They know my name and refuse to give me my mail if the PO box is not on there, it does happen some times when companies will not ship to a PO Box. I almost got a ticket because the state will not put a PO Box on the envelope and they sent it back.
Worst experience EVER at a Post Office Made a 10:15a Passport appointment Arrived at 10:18a - we live in Black Forest and got about five inches of snow the night before. No plows yet on our street and so we were late. By three minutes. Saw a commotion in the lobby. Apparently a minor car crash into the building the night before. Waited patiently for ten minutes, then rang the service bell. The postal carrier with short hair and a stout build said, “you here for passports?” Looked at the clock and said “you’re late”. I explained that we had been waiting ten minutes for someone to come to the desk. She told us to wait for the Passport person. Waited another few minutes. Now it’s 10:25a. She came up and said “you’re late”. Said the same story. She said I wasn’t here at 10:18a and besides I was supposed to be here early. She said “I know have way more important things to handle. You’re now going to have to wait until I am free to help you.” We waited until 10:47a until she was done making calls to fix the building. When she came back, she was curt and rude. We went thru the paperwork. When we were done I asked her name - TRISH. And I asked if she had ever been to an appointment or dinner reservation three minutes late. She stated, “you were NOT three minutes late” and “no, I have never been late AND I don’t make excuses for my behavior!”. When I said it’s not okay to scold me in front of my children and customers in the lobby she said, “we’re done here”. What? Is she serious? I have never had such a horrible customer service experience in all my life. Leave it to the Post Office to stay helpful and relevant. Thanks Palmer Lake Post Office I will never come back!!!
We moved to Palmer Lake in June of 2017 and I love the service we get at this Post Office! Both women that we have interacted with have been absolutely wonderful and helpful. We don't get delivery to our home and when someone inadvertently addresses something to that address they make sure it goes in our P. O. Box instead of sending it back which tells me that they take the time to know their community!,
Sonny was amazing! He got my boyfriend and I in and out in under 30 minutes for 2 passport appointments! He was also very funny and personable. Thanks, Sonny!
I called the phone number before driving all the way down from the Springs as the recording said they accept walk in's Monday-Friday 8:30-1:30 for passports. After standing in line for 20 minutes and watching the woman behind the counter who was clearly misrable and hates her job. She finally says "who else is here for Passorts" myself and the people behind me raised our hands. She then asked if we had appointments and we said no. She said well you need to leave as you have to have an appointment. I said they should get the recording fixed that states the accept walk ins, she then sat there and argued with me in front of a line of people saying that they do not have a recording that says that. I went to my car and called the phone number again to make sure it did say that; and it did. I can't believe that state would employ someone who treats there customers so poorly. These post office workers get discounts all over for working for the Government. But yet they cant even treat customers with respect or treat us as if we're human beings. Our time is important too.
I don't know what's happened at this post office in the past couple of months - but the mail delivery has gone out the window. We always check the postmarks on our incoming envelopes and 8 days for mail from California? We're trying to run a business - but they seem to only deliver junk mail from Monday to Friday - and then everything else gets in the box on Saturday! It's one thing when a customer pays late - but quite another when the post office isn't delivering mail in a timely manner and makes the customer's payment late. Ridiculous.
Jeannie went above and beyond for us. Impeccable customer service
