If you have a little more then basic understanding of mechanics look elsewhere. Not only are they ridiculously expensive in comparison to traditional school but the value/education for the money is not there either. If you are a GI bill user you will not be getting full BAH every month. This school is a total rip off ask anyone that lives around the area. Best of luck you will need it.
Great school to get your feet wet and move forward with a career in welding, recently graduated and already have been hired by a shipyard for welding, went from knowing nothing about it to having a career opportunity in 9 months. Shoutout to Mr. Brownlee current instructor he showed me special techniques and tricks and came in the lab with a great attitude and real world experience.
Went to Motorcycle Mechanics Institute located and Universal Technical Institute. AWESOME SCHOOLS!! Enjoyed it tremendously and Graduated with the knowledge I needed to go to work in my field. Awesome Instructors!! Highly recommend going here.
Great school, AMAZING instructors and staff, my tip is stay out of chs. If you come to school prepared with a willingness to learn, and with motivation then you will learn lots of amazing things. If you don't, and are just in your phone all the time you won't learn jack $#!t and are also just wasting your time and money. You get out of it what you put into it but definitely a great investment into your future!
I attended this school 2004-2005, payed my student loans to Sallie Mae and now 15+ years later I was contacted by a third party collector letting me know, I still owe 2,799.30 to UTI. Be careful with this school
Overall this school is ok. The major downfall of this school is that it is filled with kids fresh out of high school and still living off of there parents. None of them take responsibility for anything, or take anything serious. You have to apply yourself to learn things here which is how it should be. The instructors are great, never had to deal with education managers. The financial aid staff is beyond lazy. I called them multiple times a day for several weeks, left a message once a day and email, and never got a single response from them. They loose documents all the time and just say you never turned it in. They all take there lunch break at the same time so there is an hour that you can't get anything done at all. Its terribly managed. This school was better before it introduced the online class room with lab time. This is not a trade you can get experience on from the internet. The school did this to lay off instructors to lower the bottom line. Its been about 10 years since I graduated this school. I did learn from it and I am happy I went here. But it is going downhill. I can see the quality in students change since the online section started. Most graduated students come out without any knowledge of what was taught now.
Very impressed with the school. Very clean and well maintained building. Employees and staff are very nice and extremely helpful.
This school will provide everything on would need to be successful in the automotive field as a technician. I was surprised at how much they try to push you and help you with employment as you get close to graduating. There are many fun and useful benefits to going to this school that aren't advertised as much as well. All of the instructors are very nice and all seem to really care about your success. Some I may even consider as friends. An amazing school with amazing staff and I am leaving exited about my future ahead.
UTI recently transitioned to online learning because of covid, instead of transitioning back they decided to stick to an online platform for instruction. UTI is an online school, if that's what you're looking for sign up. The instructors do not teach lecture they waste your time and money talking about Santa Clause and other nonsense. The same teacher openly mocked people that dont learn well through watching a videos online in front of the whole class. Apparently thats acceptable behavior because UTI records all audio in the class room but does nothing about things like this. Then instead of teaching a lesson they take you to the resource center to do the online work. This school makes it very clear that they care more about money then their students.
