Welcome to University Baptist Church (UBC), adjacent to the University of Minnesota in historic Dinkytown. Throughout this website and at UBC, you will be able to see our intentional focus on inclusion, justice-seeking and peace-making. We are intrigued and captured by the challenge and whimsey of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seek to live out this Good News in our individual and collective lives.

A friendly, welcoming, and accepting congregation close to campus. While I was a student at the University of Minnesota my sorority hosted several events here and volunteered to offer childcare services during Sunday service. Although I am not a religious person myself, I never felt uncomfortable while there or when working with them. The church has an impressive history, and it is clear that members take pride in taking care of and maintaining the building and grounds.
University Baptist Church has been my home church since I moved to Minnesota in 2012. I have felt welcome from the first time I walked through the door! This is a small but mighty liberal community of kind, hard-working people who are committed to peace and justice issues. During this global pandemic, the church has continued to meet virtually, with several opportunities for fellowship throughout the week. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this tight-knit community!
UBC folks are really serious about their faith and about social justice. And they really walk the walk, engaging in all kinds of ministries to work toward social justice in lots of different areas. And they are friendly and welcoming to all. The music program organ, choir and handbell choir is great too.
About the most welcoming church I've been to, in and out of service. Beyond that, if you're looking to rent space, be it office space stage, dining, weddings, sports practise or luncheons, the building is full of surprising variety.
Very open church. They accept everyone regardless of race, gender, age, background, etc.
