I am flabbergasted reading all these reviews, but I think we all know why this hospital has such low ratings. This hospital is doing it's best to accommodate all who walk in the door. Sadly, foreigners are saturating this hospital. Furthermore, they will never pay a dime of their bill. This adversely impacts everyone in this community and inevitably leads to substandard care.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Back in 2015, I was too shy to speak up. But now I will, My dad was admitted into this hospital about October 2015 and was diagnosed with MRSA. However they deemed it wasn’t bad enough and released him, then he went back to the hospital in December in critical condition—- we were told his MRSA spread, and then scolded me and my mom why we didn’t bring him sooner when THEY are the ones who released him in the first place. The doctor or nurse from my moms understanding when she asked what MRSA was, they told her “Look it up” excuse me? As someone in the medical field you could’ve at least given a brief explanation. To top it off, when my dad was conscious for the first time in 2 weeks briefly, nurses came in saying they had to shower him, I asked for abit more time, JUST ALITTLE, because I was afraid he wasn’t gonna wake up again. The nurses said they couldn’t wait which I understand to a degree cause of the field but at the same time, have a heart…a minute or 2 more wouldn’t have killed you, and I was right… when I returned after his shower he was once again unconscious. Am I bitter with this hospital? Abit yes, do I forgive them? Yes, although it was hard for me to, but the Lord helped, but I will never forget the pain
Leadership conflict. Bad communication between departments.Nurse stations change minds each second, also nurse station creates visitors mental health disorders when the charge nurse stations Dont allow them after visitation hrs. The Visitors change in seconds' minds and act cruelly, bad humorous, scream, insult bad words and even attempt to hurt main entrance staff, visitors believe that, is the faul main entrance staff or visitors think the main entrance have the control to decide, who is allowed in the hospital rooms past visitation hrs! Crazy visitors using verbal abuse with a staff of main entrance! Then visitors came to make a complained about the main entrance staff and visitors said staff have lack of compassion, love for them! Because of charge nurses' decision! Even No security around, cause they are short on security staff! The main entrance needs protection Always 24/7. the visitors think they have the right in the first instance to insult/ harm/ scream and manipulate the main entrance staff, then visitors later are doing complain about staff and visitors said staff Dont has compassion and love for the job!! Visitors Dont take the time to think or ask before insulting, that is verbal abuse and harassment! Also even tracking down staff! But frivolous bossy never care for staff! They care for money in her pocket each payday!! No investigation was ever going to happen because first is money, and second is money!! Bossy will hire new staff! Even when the main entrance The staff is right!! Complete Trash hospital!!
Stay away, floors dirty, cafeteria tables were filthy, dont update you on patient status, umc covered or took out phone charging outlets, staff would rather chat with each other than do their jobs, I hope I never have to come here, I cant imagine tha healthcare. Sat in waiting area since 10am at 3pm was told we should come back at 8pm that's when discharge is, could have told us st 10 am this 9s the worst run medical facility in el paso. Today 8-12-2022 Brother in law had appointment ,arrived 1 hr prior, told the appointment date and time have changed didnt notify or attend to contact , was told call someone else they dont know, this is the worst run medical facility I have ever encountered STAY AWAY back again to same old chapter, hour late for appointment, I need a job here people getting paid to do nothing.
DO NOT COME HERE! The nurses and staff here are HORRIBLE. They do not care about the patients and they are just money hungry. Go to any other hospital but this one PLEASE!
Labs or imaging have a ridiculous system: you check in at a window that is not clearly marked, you get a number, then the people who check you in yell out numbers. There are 8 or 9 windows, so you cannot see who just called each number. This is a nightmare for a hearing impaired person. They have some tv screens on. Couldn't they flash the number and window number? Oh, wait. Windows are not numbered either.
I wish I could have left a bad review for them in 1990, when my dear brother crashed his car, and was unfortunately taken there, where he spent his brief, final days!! What I witnessed while he was lying on the hospital bed, is something that has haunted me all these years! And the blame lies on the staff of what was once called Thomason General Hospital, this same place! Like dropping his syringe onto the floor, and then just picking it up and putting it back into his arm! Or leaving him completely naked under a simple sheet for days!! Anyone visiting could have easily lifted and seen! And finally removing his life support, WITHOUT letting me or other family members know!!! Shame to those A##H###S!
Administration is horrible. Say they understand your situation but do nothing to help. Nursing staff are rude to other staff in front of patients. Providers, I can't even say anything because all I have is much more ugly words to say. Your better of self treatment.
Their recommended me to go to children's hospital to get some labs done for my toddler. Well it was a nightmare, The guy in charge of poking my daughter didn't even find the vain to poke my daughter and somebody had to come and help him, and let him know to take it out. Then the other guy try on her other arm and he didn't even finish all the tubes. He tells me "I'm missing one" and he had already pulled the needle out, I just look at him and say "NO" we are done. Is just stupid for them to leave people like that be doing that on infants and toddlers. My daughter fall asleep on our way home as soon I touch her she say "no more mom".
I had to have stress test. Was there several hours. The kindness and carrying they showed me was amazing. Explained everything in detail. Lulu from medical records was such a comfort to me. I hope if anything happens to me igo there.
