The central focus of the UM-Flint Department of Theatre & Dance is to provide students with hands-on, challenging theatre and dance opportunities.
The central focus for the University of Michigan - Flint Department of Theatre and Dance is to provide our students with a challenging, educational environment through a rich diversity of learning experiences. The students are presented with opportunities to work closely with active professionals, both on stage and behind the curtains. We challenge you to come to our productions with an open mind, ready to engage with the material and to ask your own questions.
This season, we offer a performance line-up that seeks to entertain and to engage our community. In the fall, nostalgia runs hand in hand with the future, as the cult classic musical Little Shop of Horrors runs in repertory with a new student-written piece on Flint's downtown youth music venue, The Local. Winter begins on a compelling domestic note with the smash Broadway comedy God of Carnage, and is followed by a sweeping, meta-theatrical retelling of the Cinderella story, The Ash Girl. The mainstage season closes with the beauty of Movements, the annual faculty-choreographed dance concert. We value the opportunity to engage with you, our audience and our community, with the hope that you will enjoy this challenging season
Thank you for your patronage. See you at the theatre!
