The Wisconsin Gender & Women's Studies Librarian - Your premier resource for intersectional information on gender, women, & feminism since 1977
Since its beginnings in 1977, the Gender & Women's Studies Librarian’s Office at the University of Wisconsin has served students, faculty, librarians, independent researchers and activists, and administrators across the UW System and beyond. We produce the periodical journals FEMINIST COLLECTIONS: A QUARTERLY OF WOMEN’S STUDIES RESOURCES; FEMINIST PERIODICALS: A CURRENT LISTING OF CONTENTS; and the bibliographic NEW BOOKS ON WOMEN, GENDER, AND FEMINISM; and we maintain a searchable online database called WAVE: Women’s Audio Visuals in English. We also offer reference assistance, professional presentations, and research consultation. Our extensive in-house collection of biographical dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, guides, and other reference books on women and gender is available for perusing and research by students, faculty, and the public.
(Our office hours are generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We recommend calling first to make sure someone will be here to assist you.)
